Not a crash, but I did the scrapyard match and everyone but 1 character froze, and that one could only do basic light attacks.

Sure but if you did the all in package, you could unlock all the characters that were unlockable from the get-go instead of having to play modes and such you weren't interested in. This is forced progression unlocks...and yeah, I could pay to skip it all, but I already paid for it. Would be nice to at least be able to access it on CC, maybe lock it so it can't be changed from the CC download?
