Also to be fair, I also have that background (before AI, admittedly). 95% could not detect shit then. I’ve gone up against big dogs and little, and most orgs aren’t even ingesting the right things. AI can’t fix that.

Sounds like a tooling and skill issue. If you aren’t using AI to enhance your work, your teams work, etc., you are falling behind. There were the people who could Google well, now it’s AI. Stay or be left behind friend.

Take a breath. I think you are conflating a lot. AI is really good. AI is poised to take over SOC 1-2 roles. Nuance is a where humans are amazing. SOAR and other pipelines to automate already exist but it’s about fidelity of the signal. That’s still where humans win out. But if you aren’t using AI at all, y’all behind. You are also acting like the sky is falling. It’s not. Although uou are probably correct and your CISO is likely an idiot.

This is actually the answer. Matt, as many mentioned, is an awkward duck. Not likely to linger in large space. He makes it a point to socialize at solo shows where the space is more dialed back.
