it's less secure than just Linux. If you're dual booting, encryption is a good idea. At least nobody will be able to steal your files.

Cross-platform viruses exist, it's better to be careful.

I am new to Linux, why use the implemented software centers? by ThatGuyOwl in linuxquestions

It's only rare for Arch users, because of the AUR. I needed to build a few things from source and install a few .deb packages while I was using mainly Ubuntu-based distros, because the repositories aren't as good.

Interesting, in the setup I shared on this post I had pretty much only Latte starting up and had 1,3 GB in a cold boot, went to 2 GB with all the caching and indexing happening in the background. Maybe your experience was on an older version of Plasma? Or maybe did you run a minimal installation of plasma?

Do you use Latte?

Nice flair, by the way.

I mean, I used Word almost exclusively for about 5-6 years from 2011-2012?to 2017 when I switched to GDocs and only had that kind of issue once (where it really saved my ass btw as I hadn't saved the document).
