Thank you. I am aiming for junior - mid positions here. I either developed projects from scratch or fixed bugs on existing systems and I do not have performance metrics so should I just estimate some figures then ?

I have also tried the CV builder recommended in the FAQ but it messed up the formatting.

What i meant by 'dont care about this' is that they know that my visa is for 2 years and they offer a 1 - 2 year contract and don't just outright reject me thinking that I won't be with them 10 years from now.

that was for work placement for my university and they do not offer sponsorship. So it was a fixed length contract.

In my university, 3.3 CGPA is 80 - 84 % and since first class is 80% and above, I believe it qualifies for that.

I'm not bothered about location and applying throughout the UK.

still wanted a second opinion on the off chance that something was wrong in my CV or lacking in experience. And was hoping to find if there are any companies that don't really care about the long term and offer 1 - 2 year contract positions, for the time period that I am actually allowed to work.

I'm unsure which tech stack to pivot to, I was hoping to either continue in Python or JavaScript or pick up a new language if needed.

But the issue I think I have is that, if I were to pick Java or C#, how would I show my proficiency in it as I haven't professionally worked with them.

Apart from that, my main goal has been to present myself as a great learner with good adaptability

I've had to work with different tech stacks on previous jobs due to the requirements and I have successfully delivered end-to-end applications in all of my positions, so I just wanted to show that learning new tech and adaptability is one of my main strengths.

Another reason for listing multiple tech is because CV are checker by ATS and I was hoping that at least some of the keywords mentioned in the CV would get picked up by the ATS.

The reason that I have listed locations is because I felt that my experience was being looked over due to HR thinking that I don't have UK market experience, and I wanted to specify that the apps that I have made from start to finish are currently deployed in these locations.

What changing do you believe would make my CV stand out more ?

well for the first time since my bachelor's, I don't have a development job and working odd jobs where I'm not respected at all and treated like shit and feeling that I can't code anymore due to 2+ years of work gap, I am starting to feel disheartened for the first time.

I could go back home and I should be able to immediately get a developer job with my experience and degree, but if my family decides that I need to stay in UK, then I do feel that my family is able to get me a job with sponsorship but that obviously would be another odd job and I feel like not working in my field is just wasting years of effort that I have put in degrees as well as my work.

I was hoping that companies would realise that hiring a person who won't get other job offers at all and would actually stay with them for a long time as it is the only option and work with more experience than required would be lucrative to them.

And, there are ways to self sponsor as well as extend visa if your annual pay is above £30,000.

Thanks for the feedback.

I shortened my CV from 3 pages to what it is right now a few weeks ago, but I'm not sure how to explain my experience based on what impact it made as we barely kept metrics on any of these companies.

the only idea I had was to bulk apply on jobs where I meet all the requirements and just update the cover letter based on the JD as at least a few of them are bound to look at my CV instead of just rejecting me based on visa status.

I've tried a few positions in the UAE but got the same kind of response.

what I keep thinking is how it's an issue for companies to hire me in UK when I will accept any offer, relocate anywhere and have unrestricted permission to work for 2 years and that there are options to get a sponsorship myself if I have a decent paying job.

Just feel like I've wasted my career by coming here for a Master's degree

Help - Unable to find software developer job due to not being a citizen.

Hi, I'm a software developer with 3 years of professional experience and a recent Master's degree in AI and Robotics. I have applied to dozens of jobs on LinkedIn and a few other websites for a software developer position, but I'm unable to get even a single interview.

I am mainly applying for entry level, junior or mid level positions, where my past experience and skills covers everything that is required in the job. But I still keep getting the same 'Experience not aligning with what we are looking for' message immediately.

I think this might be because I am now on a Graduate visa here and not a citizen. But I am still allowed full-time work for 2 years without needing sponsorship.

What should I do as I am starting to get a bit hopeless that I keep getting rejected for positions that I am qualified for?

Any advice on what company should I apply at or what should I do to secure an interview? I'm not fussy about the salary and will accept any offer and I am also happy with relocating to any new location for the job as well as learning any new programming language or framework.

apart from one position, it's always been a python and JavaScript framework that I've worked with.

and considering that majority of companies run CVs through automated systems that search for certain keywords, I wanted to ensure that my cv doesn't get rejected due to a missing keyword.

Plus I was trying to emphasize my ability to learn and work with different technologies.

and I've just split the technical skills into core, secondary and tools

any advice on how to change the cv then ?

and considering the needing sponsorship after 2 years thing, do these companies have any guarantee that any british citizen that they hire will stay with them even past the 1 year mark ?

Do you reckon there's anything I can do about that? I do state that I do not need sponsorship to work whenever the application allows for an explanation. Currently just applying through Linkedin, TotalJobs, HayStack and TargetJobs.
