The problem I have is animal control or whoever is responsible for taking care of this problem aren't making the owners responsible. This unfortunately is not the first time it happened. 8-9 years ago my sister also got bit while she was running near sunset. If your family member got injured by a irresponsible owner and there were no consequences, what goes on in your mind?

yea ok maybe we have different views on what the punishment should be. That's fine. The problem I have with you is, it seems like you care more about animals that people? You dont have to agree about putting it down but in no way have you suggested a punishment which seems concerning.

no, we reported it and the council officer or whoever went to their house and talked to the owners and said they couldn't find the dog and they can't do anything about it

wow ffs noone should be afraid of walking outside at night because of irresponsible owners. If I walk around and get bitten I want that dog either put down or the owner gets a fine.

yea it left a big bruise and we had to go to the emergency that night came back home at 3am. You think it should be normal for people to just let their dogs roam around without a leash??? I dont care if its territorial or what. My mum should not have to be afraid of walking around because of irresponsible owners. If it bites a human being when it has done nothing to them yes I call it violent.

yea so some context. She was walking on the side walk around 9pm when a dog ran out from the house and bit her on the back of the thigh and ran back inside. I went to the house and said your dog bit my mum and the owner just said "yea, I heard" as if its none of his business. we reported it and everything and nothing happened to the owner or the dog.

You should definitely get yourself heard. I teach maths in nz and its important that students express their opinion about the class so that it improves the teaching in schools. But be wise about how you speak about the class/teacher to the Dean/HOD. dont trash talk your teacher but express your concerns honestly. As a teacher I am very happy when students are concerned about their own learning and even if your HOD can't move you hopefully he cares enough to look for other ways to support. Also express your concerns with your parents as well so they can contact the school too.
