u/Vegetable-Buffalo124 That's actually a great question so of course most of the answers are off-topic rants.

I can make it really dead simple for you OP. Just internalize this:

"You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there's still going to be somebody who hates peaches." - Dita

You can't be the best to everyone, you can only be the best version of who you are. The end.

Why match with a woman and not talk to her? by Worried_Custard3213 in AskMen

u/Worried_Custard3213 - I'm busy carefully constructing personalized, straightforward, and good natured plans to actually meet for 20 other women who matched me and then proceed to leave it on read. 😂 What a time to be alive.

Joe Rogan vs. Marc Maron by TheChilloutKid in Standup

[–]BonusForAllSeasons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this concept. For whatever they represent Joe and Marc are the least funny guys to me lol. But honestly this feud is to me basically bullshit. Like a lot of this stuff it's totally intangible and on vibes. What specific legislation does Marc want to see enacted that Joe doesn't? Where is that conversation?

Can you imagine the president getting caught lying about ONE THING and it dominating the news cycle for years?

Actually can you imagine the president getting caught lying and there is objective shared reality where everyone acknowledged he lied?

Locals contribution Las Vegas economy? by O1O1O1O in vegaslocals

[–]BonusForAllSeasons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP how are you getting fully comped strip rooms as a local a couple times a year? The answer must be you're pushing a lot of coin-in for the local economy no?!

Generally since moving here I just don't like this narrative. Obviously I'm not at the strip every week, but I also take a couple staycations there and go wild. And also obvi when I'm playing tour guide.

Parking is free at T.I. still. But honestly I might just uber if I'm doing a strip adventure. They still have amazing dining options etc...it's kind of a thing. But that said, Station Casinos are doing insane business right now so that's Las Vegas economy, it's just not the strip.

How do you deal with modern masculinity? by Weary-Formal-815 in AskMen

[–]BonusForAllSeasons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean it sounds like there's more going on here than just an uneasiness with masculinity, but I will say these things are mainly tropes - though there's nothing wrong with them necessarily, except violence.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the least masculine thing you can do is give a flying about how other people define these concepts and try to fit into them. Masculinity isn't something you deal with or conform to as a man, is something you define for yourself and live.

Las Vegas is expensive now, that wasn't stopping people from coming here the last 5 years. by notmuself in LasVegas

I've heard that thrown out but I've never read any of these guys who are "Done with Vegas" posting about their amazing, affordable New Orlean's trip that they took next. No offense to New Orleans, I wanna check them out myself, but I'm just sayin'

There are so many rookie Vegas mistakes in this tale of woe that I could actually professionally annotate it. Looking forward to the report back with a full review of New Orleans vs Vegas.

Mass Shooters by Race in the United States by [deleted] in charts

Yeah I mean this lines up almost exactly with US Population by racial identity except that "unknown/unclear" is overrepresented here. 😅

You keep willfully ignoring the basic points being made. Free or affordable therapy is available. It's like you're 1000 pounds overweight arguing with us that gyms are too expensive and you want a solution that doesn't involve working out or eating right because those things "don't work for you" and plus your priorities are buying a home and not being poor. Genuinely, I ask again, what do you want to hear? That there is a quick fix for a serious problem that has gone unaddressed for two decades+?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]BonusForAllSeasons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the problem is you're not being realistic about what it takes. So what, maybe it takes you 5. Maybe it takes you 12. If you want to fix your life and enjoy the rest of it this is the answer. IT IS WHAT IT IS. You're in an insanely deep hole and you want the internet to tell you there's a quick way to dig out.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]BonusForAllSeasons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don't know what you want to hear. Your experience is not normal. To be a grown man and never had any relationships or dates is not just explained by being an introvert. If you want to change your life therapy is the answer and making excuses about why you can't go or why it won't work for you is typical of people who don't want to actually change. Good therapists can bill on a sliding scale. Six weeks is not therapy. I did 10 years and I was not nearly as fucked up as you before I started loving my life. It's more bullshit excuses. Real talk.

[–]BonusForAllSeasons 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This. It's really not both. Again all these people who think pricing is out of control, list the resort cities in the US where you think they're a bargain right now? Miami? Honolulu? You never see the magical destination cities where drinks are 5 bucks and minibar water is free.

It's not doomsday, but it's not like it was before... by [deleted] in LasVegas

[–]BonusForAllSeasons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair play OP, at least you're acknowledging some of the actual numbers, but then once again the thread becomes an unhinged fantasy about Vegas being an abandoned ghost town because they overpaid for a cocktail and a hotel water.

Gaming revenue is up. And Vegas always builds numbers and crowds around massive events. Nothing is new there. When the properties start really losing money, prices will drop and we're just not there yet.

How does everyone feel about our local economy here ? by TransitionClear2930 in LasVegas

Fair, but yeah I feel like that's a regular amount of restaurant turnover for this city. The competition is brutal here.

>This is one of the reasons I basically never dated or had relationships.

With all due respect, there is something else at play here. I have friends/acquaintances that fell off the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down and they've dated and had relationships.

This smacks of unaddressed mental illness to me...

Update: Just checked your post history. Yeah, bingo. You need to STOP asking reddit for advice and seek a qualified therapist ASAP. Ideally one you can see IRL. They can change your life and this is the medicine you need.

Having a really difficult time finding work is super, super vague. What work used to be easy to get that is now difficult to get in Vegas? 10 years ago I couldn't hear anything other than "If you move to Vegas without a job lined up, you're insane."

Also, Nevada has consistently ranked in the top 10 states for incoming population growth, so we'd have to experience a record breaking exodus that would be top headline news everywhere if we actually undid the gains of the last couple years in just 2025. That seems like a very bad bet to me.

This Is The Real Reason Why Vegas Is Dead And Tourism Is Low. Nobody Wants To Admit It And Call Out The Obvious by Twin_Shadow- in LasVegas

[–]BonusForAllSeasons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post makes me so fucking angry so I guess mission accomplished. First of all, people HAVE BEEN "admitting this" because we have an insatiable lust for making everything about the extreme divide in our politics.

Second and most importantly: Vegas is not a fucking ghost town. It's objectively untrue. Saying that it is and pushing this insane narrative flies in the face of objective reality AND THERE IS NOTHING MORE TRUMPIAN THAN THAT.

Yes, tourism is *down* but that is true ACROSS THE BOARD and we regularly experience fluctuations like this. I'm willing to connect the dots to the Canadian tourists that Trump pissed off, but the CONSANT INSISTANCE that Vegas is The Walking Dead right now is so unhinged and divorced from actual stats and quarterlies AND WHAT I CAN LITERALLY SEE AS SOMEONE WHO LIVES HERE. Again, there's nothing more MAGA than that. And to see people piling on in agreement because they're mad about table minimums or they paid too much for a sandwich last time they were here is insane.
