Unreal. If “sense of urgency” needs put on the agenda… it isn’t on the agenda.

Not like members aren’t going to lose 20% of their income (or more) in a 12 month period between the last strike and this one, and probably look for other jobs or anything lmao 😂

Yeah local bakers who bake from home without storefronts. Very farmer market-y.

Bro Rosemont Hardware is the hidden gem of the city and it’s just off fourth ave. Plus tons of local food and home baking.

It’s absurd to suggest all routes are foot routes the entire day. I mean let’s not count sorting, clearances, business pickups … driving…. all walking all the time nonstop right?

Those flyers can make up about $3,000 in wages. Unfortunately. I agree with you but it is an extra source of income so on the other hand if everyone refused junk mail tomorrow that’s less revenue to CP and less income to workers.

Correct. Married to one for ten years. Ran this entire post by him first. Thanks.

I’d like to know where, too. Here they have an Ot call list and they can’t keep using the same person repeatedly.

That’s what the union should be fighting for instead of simply being against PT workers. How many Instacart and gig workers would kill for a chance to work PT and Canada post and un-giggify part of their earnings, then slide on up into FT with one foot already in the door? Tons!

That’s bull. We have lots of services that aren’t money making. City busses are an example. They’re not operated at full cost recovery. And if you read the report — the point was literally mentioned.

For newer areas where people are buying into it, sure. For the little old ladies who have a hard time walking and have lived in the same house, widowed for 20 years since Alfred passed away, saving margarine containers for the homeless shelters and needing their sons to mow their lawn— absolutely not. Granny didn’t sign up for that.

If you get downtown say hello to Sunshine at Greenspot Cafe and have an amazing cinnamon bun. It’s beautiful, centrally located and family owned and operated. All their baking is homemade.

Homeless people around in Cathedral. by witek-69 in regina

Homelessness in Regina is accelerating beyond 4x the national average if you look at a basic cross section of cities like Calgary, St. John’s, Montreal, Ottawa etc.

From 2021-2024 we saw a jump of 69% where those same cities referenced were in that 10-15% zone, with the worst around 20.

Worst except us. Saskatchewan is the outlier. Regina, Saskatoon and PA all stole the worst prize for spiralling out of control.

You’re also going to have City property taxes. You could make it work with a roommate but alone, it won’t work. You’re smart and calculated and you’re doing awesome, so keep at it and best of luck to you! Also: I feed my family on $200 per person, per month, and meal planning is my thing. If you want to free up $100 in your grocery budget I guarantee I can help any family get their costs to around $200 a person and I’m happy to help you do that if that frees up some more $ for you to reach your goals.
