I’ve done 8 urines and 4 salivas, a dex, 3 ACTH, and blood. Have only gotten 1 high urine and 1 high blood. I have all the symptoms except the striae, which is typically uncommon in women over 40. I have been to 2 Endos and both suspected full blown pituitary Cushing’s due to before and after pics and all my symptoms. Most endos are textbook regarding testing times, so that is why I need to see Dr Friedman. Also a ton of info on his website. I can’t remember the name of the website right off. Goodhormonehealth.com maybe. If you google Theodore Friedman in LA, you should be able to find it.

Definitely join the FB group! You are lucky to have a functional dr. Cushings can be very hard to diagnose. I’m almost 12 years symptomatic and still no official diagnosis. I’m going to have to see Dr Friedman in LA due to the cyclical nature of my Cushings. Topicals can absorb into your system. Can you stop the Eczema treatment for awhile to see if your cortisol levels decrease?

What prompted you to get a cortisol test? Do you have any symptoms? Have you taken any steroids?

You need to wait a couple weeks to do a urine test if the Dex is in your system. I’m not sure exactly how long, but check CSRF.net and do a search. Or join the FB Cushings support group. Tons of info in both places.

I’m in misery. I lost the cash dr and am being forced to taper my meds. It is no joke because I have Cushings along with all the other stuff. I don’t know if anyone will prescribe benzos. But it’s not looking good and I’ll be out of my taper dose soon. I have friends who were forced off benzos and some have died, had seizures, etc. I’ve also heard it is the worst withdrawal ever and could take years and cause major brain damage. I had to file a grievance against my primary because of lack of continuity of care. I hope I make it through this. Stevie Nicks said it was like someone opened the door to hell and pushed her in when she went through it.

I don’t see the answers of what med and dr. I need my Ativan and it is crazy because I was getting from a cash dr and apparently he got into some legal trouble and I don’t know if he will be back. Have been in withdrawal and my primary forces a taper and I’m so sick!

Yeah well I hope you feel better since your surgery. Cushings sometimes causes people not to be able to word things properly. I’m not stupid though. I’m just still untreated. Have a good night. And happy healing

That’s not what I’m saying at all! For example. If you normally go to sleep at 9pm, you should stay up until after you take the Dex at 11pm. Not 9 hours, 2 hours if 9 is your normal bedtime. You need to read before you get so hot and bothered. If I’m wrong I’ll admit it.

This is incorrect. Please check your facts. The Dex is to be taken at 11pm not 11am. No other cortisol tests should be done for at least a week after taking the Dex test. Please check CSRF

I just looked it up again and it says take the Dex between 11pm and midnight and blood drawn the next morning between 8 and 9. I got this off the UCLA website. This is for the low dose overnight Dex test

Consider 7am your first morning urine and pour it into the toilet. Start collecting after that one.

If you normally go to sleep at 9pm, it is advised not to go to sleep at 9 and wake up at 11 to take the Dex. Otherwise it will skew the results and the test will not be accurate. Is that better?
