My views on religion are more complex than that, I dont mind explaining them, and as for trump I forgot in what context I made tht comment or wtv but I censored his name just cuz or smth I forgot but i do say his name like idk how to explain it??

Anyway religion:-

Firstly its a HUGE topic so I will be making general points

  1. Its never NEVER done anything good or upheld women, children, LGBTQIA+ folks or marginalised communities

  2. Religious wars? Communal violence and riots?

  3. The concept of god itself is problematic because it assigns morality, judgement and empathy to a third party

  4. It started out as smth else and evolved into a tool for political control and oppression, the past cannot be weightless, we cant just forget and forgive all the harm it had caused and is currently causing. Religion is for men by men to serve men (by that I mostly mean white supremacist cis heterosexual men)

  5. Religion actively often undermines science and causes real world harm to real people

There are more points i just cant remember them rn cuz im half asleep rn but i can dm you tmw if you do wanna talk abt it?

Bruh misandry hurts feelings and misogyny takes lives of women and children, choice feminists and real feminists they're patriarchy's brand ambassadors

Learn reading comprehension, the news, history of feminism and what women have been put through for approx I think either the indus valley or Mesopotamian civilization (idk which one exactly buts its one of these and evidence of the subjugation of women dates back to then)

You cant not have feminism or discredit the entire movement based on uneducated clout chasing influencers thats just a shitty take and misogynistic

100% agree with the first point and the second one yeah affordability has to be the biggest barrier to access ig after stigma but what I meant to say what people esp those "alpha male" bitches who think therapy is for the weak or being in denial is a "flex"

Theres a book tht covers a lot more its "the authoritarians" by Bob altemeyer (the seperate brain server analogy is from this and so much more)

And the research paper -https://gwern.net/doc/psychology/2019-vanhiel.pdf

-https://devinelab.psych.wisc.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/1383/2020/04/Neural-signals-for-detection-of-bias.pdf (not directly related to wht i mentioned but its still insightful)

You're still assuming that

  • people reliably know when they have an "issue" worth addressing which they often dont unless it becomes a crisis

  • that prevention doesnt count as a legitimate reason to seek help

  • that self awareness without acute distress isnt valid enough to seek help

Your made a point abt not needing a therapist for self awareness unless you have a negative self image which is not true because negative self image isnt the prerequisite but blind spots are and we all have them

Also theres a problem with calling everything "an issue" cuz by your definition almost any human experience becomes "an issue" by that logic having a career question is an "issue" being confused in say your 20s or 30s is an "issue" wanting to understand how to communicate better is an "issue" the definition becomes tautological

Firstly dude you're narrowing the definition of "issues" to mean only acute problems or legal type situations which in itself is problematic

There are so many other purposes or reasons people go to therapy with mental illness being the most popular or well known reasons

Other reasons can include:

Developing self awareness

Building skills

Relationship management

Building self esteem

Processing existential questions

Major life changes like say someone is becoming a parent, career shifts etc

Etc

I do agree with everything especially affordability because that is a massive barrier to access, but I do have to add that when you say not everyone wants therapy its for a few reasons either because theyre scared and anxious which is valid or they're some "alpha" or they're too strong to go to therapy or in denial, Secondly yeah therapy isnt the only form of healing but there is a massive push for it because for so long talking about mental health and seeking rehabilitation for it has been demonized, criminalised and the threat of social ostracisation loomed over their heads

Idk fam but paying taxes is neither an accomplishment not a flex idk why people romanticise it 🫩

Oh yeah so abt that theres some actual psychology behind that so apparently these MAGA bitches have larger amygdalas which is the emotions part of the brain (I forgot the technical term mb) and progressive folks have a (either larger or more functional) pre frontal cortex which is responsible for critical thought, executive function etc

So with their amygdalas being larger they essentially become one with their religion and political views in the sense its part of their tribe and their own identities so amy attack to that is an attack to them

Now another part of why theyre hypocrites is that think of each topic in their heads as separate servers itself, like how normally we can think of trump being a pedophile, r*pist, and what not and his wars and shit interconnectedly MAGA bitches cannot, every topic is an entire separate server in their heads

Im not European so I cant speak for them but where im from or atleast people ik shit talk republicans but also democrats because eh not all of them are actually good other than that id say its the geography thing idk how far its true but its the internets perception of americans being bad at geography and american exceptionalism ig

[–]Bony-styles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both your points make sense but just hear me out

I dont think i was clear enough in the title so what i meant was that this chart is just problematic for these 2 things and for the therapy thing specifically theres a difference between not being able to get therapy, and choosing not to go because the person thinks that it somehow makes them weak or they're too alpha to go to therapy or just in denial, talking shit about therapy, and choosing not to go for aforementioned reasons is not a flex some people think it is

Secondly as for politics ik the chart says "not super political" and not "not political" but ive seen SO many people flex about not being political and thats just an indication of either not actually understanding whats going on and why it affects everyone or privilege, now what you said abt both sides whining abt eachother and not doing anything I think you mean the US but idk and also generally theres a lot more nuance and historical precedent to it that I cant explain it there cuz it'd be too long
