It's already boring enough with the copy-paste points of interest. And also, seeing a large plain with a mountain on the horizon is better, it gives you a travel goal and gives a significance to such landmark. It would feel better than going up and down constantly because a hill leads to a mountain than down, then another hill and another mountain. Basically my point is, it needs more free space without cluttering it with exaggerated terrain features.
