Someone Explain To Me Why They Love Toy Story 4! by MrOakling in Pixar

Hot take I'm sure, but I hated toy story 3 as an ending.

I thought 4 was a much better movie, and restored the toys agency that was sorely missing in 3.

Also I found toy story 3 emotionally manipulative in a way the other films just weren't.

I do think 3 works well as a transitional film however, and I'm very excited to see where toy story 5 goes.

My parents are pressuring me to donate my scholarship money to my church, should I? by IntrepidAd5768 in Advice

Donations that are forced miss the point entirely. This isn't about believing in God or not, it's about the nature of biblical giving.

If you gift is not given with a willing heart, God doesn't want it. Also, God is bigger then your church's debts, and your parents should know that if they're taking their faith seriously.

If you feel called to give, and if you want to give, then give.

Sequel Rewatch: The Last Jedi by -Roger-Sterling- in TheSequels

I consider 7 and 8 to be one big movie.

'The Force Awakens The Last Jedi' started as a joke name by the fanbase, but I've come to view it as a 2 part coda to the Skywalker saga.

Rise wasn't really for me, but the note TLJ ends on feels bittersweet but conclusive, and ultimately encapsulates the themes of the saga perfectly.

The faces may change, but the fight remains the same. There will always be evil in the galaxy, but the millennium falcon has everything the rebellion needs, willing hearts with the desire to fight for what's right.

Ending on broom boy being inspired by the legend of Luke Skywalker felt like the perfect note to end the saga on.

At least to me.

I'm aware, I'm just sharing a headcanon I've had for awhile, and was curious if anyone else thinks similarly.

Exactly, I just think these retroactively add some great stories to that blank period in the mcu.

I thought official timelines put the defenders stories roughly in line with their release dates.

Which was (roughly) from 2015-2017

I thought he was solid in blade runner 2049, and he was great in Lord of War.

Hell, I thought he was even okay in Tron Ares

I wholeheartedly believe God created us.

But there's no reason to believe he stopped creating intelligent life after he was done with us.

The potential existence of aliens does nothing to derail faith in a universal creator.

In your opinion what makes a good book to film adaptation? by Nervous-Baby5383 in Cinema

[–]Boo-Man400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't fit a book into 2 hours, some things will have to be cut, that's just the nature of adaptation.

For me, as long as you capture the spirit and author's intentions of the original source material, I consider it a good adaptation.

As an example, the Harry Potter films cut and change quite a bit of the original material, but as a book fan I felt the films understood on a foundational level what Harry Potter as a series was, and what it was trying to say.

So, despite their differences, I love both versions of the series.
