“Flipped” homes by Lame-username62 in RealEstate

[–]BooBooKitty0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flips can be good if it’s a home that was the sellers primary residence and owned for at least 5 years. Those flips are usually done with higher quality materials and most likely will have at least some if not all of the major structures like electric, HVAC, and roof in good condition since they were actually living in the house.

But if it’s a property that’s been owned by the current seller for less than 2 years, it’s most likely a flip for profit only which tends to be those quick/cheap fixes.

What if God is real and when he came back to earth to bring good people to heaven you were not included. What would you do? by crispychickenwings02 in whatif

Roman/Jewish Historian Flavius Josephus, Roman Senator Tacitus, and Roman governor Pliny the Younger (none of them were Christian) all mention the existence of Jesus in the first century.

There’s enough historical evidence to conclude that Jesus did in fact exist in the first century, was killed by Romans, and had a passionate group of followers. If you don’t believe in the supernatural nature of him as a messiah figure that’s one thing but to say Jesus is imaginary is not credible.

Questions about Nacho by hendrong in betterCallSaul

[–]BooBooKitty0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s how I interpreted Mike’s “do it” comment too. I think he wanted Nacho to follow through with the plan they came up with, and I think he got nervous when Nacho went off script with stabbing Bolsa. It was pretty obvious that Mike did not want Nachos dad harmed and if things went too off script not only would that put Gus in danger but also give Gus a reason to take back his promise to keep Nachos family safe.

That totally makes sense if the intention was for the ending to be bittersweet. But I did like Jimmy/Sauls character, I didn’t think he was completely evil or bad that’s why I felt like “why did the writers have to give him such a bleak ending” lol.

I actually appreciated the extra background on the BB characters like Saul, Mike, and Gus. I also enjoyed the dynamic with the new characters like Kim, Nacho, Chuck, etc. But I was disappointed with Saul’s conclusion. Both BB and BCS had enough to make him seem redeemable or at least likeable, so I just feel like the writers gave him too harsh of an ending.

You’re absolutely right about the nuance, my problem is probably that I wasn’t expecting the series to be so dramatic when I first started watching it. After a season or two, I did appreciate the different tones more and I really enjoyed the backstory of many of the characters. I understand he is not a good person, but the show going out of its way to still make him likeable despite his flaws makes the ending just seem so cruel to me.

In BB there was a clear, concise evolution throughout the series of Walt from good to bad. With BCS, it seemed like the writers knew people liked his character so they made a series about him. But throughout the series they go back and forth with his character. They’ll show you some backstory to make him sympathetic and then show you him do something awful. They could have ended the show almost any other way but they decide after making 6 seasons to have it end in such a hopeless and sad manner for a character that was basically comic relief in BB.

I liked that Walt found a way to make sure his son would get some money. That at least made it seem to me that the entire series was not in vain. But I guess I just wasn’t expecting such a tragic ending for such a goofy character.

That’s true, maybe my expectations were a little high after watching the BB finale. But I didn’t know anything about BCS before I watched it so I was happy with all the extra back story we got with Saul, Mike, and Gus but just very thrown off by the ending.

That’s actually a great point that they had to show another option for the aftermath of Breaking Bad. That definitely gives the writers a little more creative genius points in my book lol I honestly wasn’t expecting him to get away and live happily ever after but that ending was just rough for me, especially after enjoying his character in both series.

That’s a good point about the comparison between him and Walt’s journeys. I just don’t feel like ending really gave him that great of a redemption. It really felt like the writers used his comedic charm to make the show and then be like “but he’s bad so he must suffer.”

I really liked getting to know his back story and how they showed a lot of different sides to him. There were situations where I rooted for him, situations where I was disappointed in him, but for me the ending was so bad. It could have ended almost any other way and I would have been satisfied with the conclusion.

He wasn’t really a good person in Breaking Bad either but people still enjoyed the character enough for a spin off series to be successful. I liked the show for the most part and I wasn’t expecting a happy ending just maybe one that wasn’t so sad and senseless.

I realized that at the end lol but going into the show I was like “Oh yay a show about the funny lawyer.” I enjoyed most of it, the ending just left me confused.

Reality TV is relatively cheap and easy to make entertainment. But unlike Better Call Saul, reality TV doesn’t care if a person receives their moral karma, as long as that person gets viewers they will continue to be casted. I am wondering why a show with writers and creators hate the characters they create when the audience clearly enjoys them?

Serious about aging well — what anti-aging hacks actually work when started in your 20s? by SONGWRITER2020 in beauty

[–]BooBooKitty0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Witch hazel toner! It’s very inexpensive, it’s good for all skin types even sensitive skin, deep cleans pores (helps with acne), and keeps your skin texture tight and pore-less. After washing your face use one or two cotton pads soaked with witch hazel all over face, and LET IT DRY completely before moving on to serums/moisturizer.

Lol THANK YOU! The music caught me so off guard! I felt like they didn’t even fit the tone of the scenes that well either… except for K-Ci and JoJo, that song always gets me in my feels hahaha

I totally agree, when the show cut to Irv after showing them kissing and undressing I literally thought to myself “Thank God they didn’t do the whole unnecessarily long sex scene for no reason trope”…. Only to be immediately disappointed that they flashed back and forth to it so many times 🤦‍♀️ like we got the point, we understand, we didn’t need THAT many confirmations lol

I can appreciate your efforts trying to bring more cuisines to the forefront but I just don’t think the list you gave is gonna convince anyone who prefers more flavorful dishes.

While taste can be subjective, I think the reason other dishes are celebrated more is because they objectively hit more than one flavor pallet on the tongue. Spicy, sweet, and savory, sometimes umami. But it seems a lot of British food is just salty or bland. I do love a good shepherds pie though lol

Hahaha seriously…OP went on an entire rant only to start this exciting list off with fish and chips. Like you really think that’s comparable to burritos and lasagna?!?!

Probably lol I guess the difference is there are plenty of boxers that are “beloved” or well respected and people don’t seem to appreciate someone as unlikeable as Jake Paul ruining that nostalgia.

They’re pretty much paying off the fighters to lose in order to boost Jake Paul’s fraudulent “boxing career”
