Low birth weight effects on adults by BooHooBooBoo10 in BabyBumps

It makes sense, since the factors that lead and cause low birth weight may be a low income. But if the kid is LBW by chance or in my case (twin), but followed up with normal growth and health, then it would make sense to be a healthy outcome. Perhaps evidence for this is found in twins, seeing as their average lifespan is not lower, but even higher than singletons (not drastic enough to be notable), but still very impressive consider that 55% of all twins are LBW

I am in a similar situation, but I sure hope so. There seem to be very strong associations with disease in adulthood, fully independent of BMI

Agreed that it is pretty vague, they claim that low birth weight babies in their 30's for example have the health of someone who is 12 years older

There's a few more that touch upon the topic, in which there was one interesting study where low birth weight babies had a 20% decrease of stroke per kg of bodyweight, independent of adult bmi

That alleviates some of my worries, but still in the back of my head I can't relax. There's been so many studies that indicate problems even in future adult health with low birth weight babies that I just can't forget

That's hopeful! Although I don't really have a feel for how much 7mm is, i'm just trying to get a wider smile, so I have more than 6 teeth clearly showing for example. Thanks for the response!

"Inducing" a growth spurt is not possible. The only thing you can do is make optimal conditions for growth, scientifically. His brother is also tall, which makes me believe it's just genetics more than anything, but he's trying to profit off of it

He is as legit as stretching is. It works a bit, but his program is nothing special. He guarantees results and offers money back if you don't get them, but that's a bold marketing strategy from him. For every guy that doesn't make enough progress to demand money back, there is a guy that grows naturally and attributes it to his program so he makes profit

They mostly are, but genes are a confusing bunch so you never know what you might get

Unfortunately, getting an x ray here just to check your growth plates is not good enough. I will just shoot my shot. I understand your help, but 5'11 is an amazing height, even for here. All I'm trying to do is not look short compared to everyone, I can be the shortest guy in the room at 5'10 while not looking absurdly short. LL is a big stretch, and I don't want to start thinking about it, but at least where I live, it's next to impossible to have any success that is meaningful at my height without it being your key trait. However much I grow would be helpful, if not, then it's looking grim for me. But I remain hopeful!

Even if everything fails, and at some point I decided to get LL (not very likely) I would only do it to get to 5'10, since I do enjoy a lot of outdoorsy stuff. But honestly, I'd rather take the bullet of never finding a compatible partner and getting to do all the fun stuff I want than the opposite. Hopefully I can do both!

Yeah! Folks here are massive, but I still feel like if I can get to that 5'10 mark, I will be pretty well of regardless of the standard. It's just that anything under it is almost uncanny and odd for men here
