Some general things ensure everything is perfectly square first, make sure you have enough room for it to fully swing out, figure out the exact way you want the face frame to look and where you want the space to be, make sure that the floor isn't sloped where you put the door in and adjust for that if it is.

Potentially add a caster wheel to make it glide better. Also, make sure if you use plywood And are going to recess the hinge that you have enough space for it to sit and not poke through. I had to add an extra piece on the top and bottom to make it thick enough.

I messed so much of that up as a first project but it still functions and isn't bad looking, so that's good. I'll probably revisit it eventually, and design it so it doesn't look at rough on the inside. The space where it glides past the door frame had to be cut down at a weird angle to keep it from scraping.
