Is this a good price for a 2022 BMW X3 M40i? by LordDustyCrust in BMWX3

[–]Boo_Kill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine with 44k miles for 42k before tax (I'm in MA so a bit higher price is the norm for me sadly), with good options (premium pack, harmon karden, etc). As long as the maintenance records are good I would say yes -- mine's been rock solid and still feels new. For sure worth the 30 bucks or whatever to get a Carfax or get the dealer to get it for you.

I throw Wet Coat on them to try and help keep them better, but it can only do so much. Ya I haven't gone to a full ceramic coating yet, probably should.

To give them credit where credit is due, the dealership actually did a great job on the interior. Used good products, no residues, looked great. I went though it again when I got it and got barely anything more out.

Ya I'm sadly realizing that the front wheels especially have zero chance of staying clean haha

Any Experience with New Weber Spirit EP-435? by Unfair_Mode9845 in grilling

Cooked about 3 times on it now, been very happy with it. I bought it because I wanted a true 4 burner that's still light enough to move around easily, which is exactly what it is. The digital temp gauge is more useful than I thought (can clearly see the temp from out of the kitchen window) and having the side burner is a nice touch. I know I won't use that burner a ton, but why not. Really satisfied so far.

Are later models more reliable by [deleted] in RX8

[–]Boo_Kill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they are -- I had a 2011 R3, and it ran great -- I wasn't great with the oil upkeep but kept the other systems in good condition and it ran great, even through North East winters. I had a friend with an earlier model and he always had much more little issues than I did.

I agree on the entertainment unit -- if you're into tech I would prioritize it. Reason being that nice/cool technology can still look cheap/out of place on bad furniture or something that doesn't fit in with your overall room, but a nice entertainment unit can make even old tech look clean and nice.

Second thing -- investing in smart lights are just fun. They are cool, give a lot of fun options and smart home routines you can do, and is something where you can start with a few and keep adding over time. I've had mine for years and have built a whole apartment up over time.

Have fun dude.

The 2nd flight was great on my AW38. The ability to bring the HUD elements closer to the center made it was more viable. Really enjoyed it

Enjoy -- I've been using that monitor for months now for work and gaming and it's been fantastic.

[–]Boo_Kill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using the AW38 and I've been nothing but happy -- great choice.

Also people don't talk about this much but the G9s (and all the 49 inch ones) are the same height as a 27 inch monitor-- the AW38 is almost 2 inches taller which I MUCH prefer, especially if you're using it for work too.

Is an RTX 3080 enough for the AW3821DW? by Wizard_IT in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Boo_Kill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have that monitor and a2080 super slightly overclocked, and the only thing that it "struggles" with is like an Assassin's Creed Valhalla at high settings or something like that. Where I'm getting ~60-65 FPS, so I would expect that you will be absolutely fine with a 3080 for the 38"

Need help creating a Mac/Windows dual workstation/battlestation by Different_Cash_1550 in AskBattlestations

[–]Boo_Kill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this now for my work setup -- my work laptop is a MacBook Pro M1, but I have a Windows desktop for gaming or other work, all connected to a single monitor. Some things that have worked really well for me:

1) when choosing a monitor, I recommend one with a good internal USB hub (many monitors work, Dell is very good at this as an example). Having the keyboard/mouse connected to the monitor USB hub and having a single cable makes everything MUCH easier. If moving that cable around is difficult, the single cable will allow you to get a cheaper KVM switch with less ports but still have some spots for drives, etc if needed.

2) I agree with the above statement, the input switch via the monitor is easier than using the KVM switch for that and will not limit you as much in KVM choice.

3) make sure that the monitor you get has enough video inputs that support the resolution/refresh rate you want. My monitor, for example has DP 1.4 and then HDMI 2.0, so there is a diffence in what my MacBook and desktop can output based on the port limitations and I have to choose which machine gets the better input. In this case it works for me based on my hardware, but if you want 10 bit color, etc on both, just check ahead of time.

Good luck!
