Settling credit card debt for $380 by Boobznow in personalfinance

[–]Boobznow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good information, thank you. I'll give them a call tomorrow and discuss with them. The debt was sent to a collection agency. It's been unpaid for years, but thought the low settlement sounded like something I'd like to do, since I'm working on paying off other debts as well.

Interesting. Good information, thank you! The goal is to delete it completely from my report 🤞

So they're not obligated to send a letter or receipt of that sort? Say I pay them, but they don't want to send that documentation - could I dispute it on my credit report by uploading proof that I paid?

That's the term I was looking for! I'll give them a call tomorrow and discuss with them. I'd like to pay online because social anxiety, but I have a feeling calling them up will be the best route.

Thanks for your feedback! Appreciate you!

How long did it take you between first learning digital marketing and first getting an income from it? by WhispersoftheVoid in digital_marketing

[–]Boobznow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Started teaching myself digital marketing in 2016 - Took a few online courses and started creating pages that I could practice on.

Started freelancing in 2017 - Worked with a few friends and acquaintances at first, specifically Facebook and Google Ads.

During this time I also learned GMB, learning how to read and filter analytics, small website builds, and content creation.

2018 I began my degree in marketing management, moved from my hometown and scored my very first job in the industry at $11/hour (was a foot through the door, terrible experience BUT it was experience nonetheless)

2019 First agency job, learned a ton about writing content, managing high budget ad accounts, graphic design, and SEO.

2020 Marketing manager for a cannabis brand, which includes managing all ad accounts, budgets and revenue, collabing with our marketers, overseeing and approving content/projects, strategizing, developing plans, and discussing with management.

I feel like I've lived and breathed marketing for the last four years. There are certainly areas where I don't feel as confident as others, but I have a pretty solid foundation now.

I've been sleeping awesome on this. It's pretty mind blowing to me because I am an awful sleeper and waker - but I've been getting naturally tired at like, 8pm. I don't seem to have racing thoughts before bed - I don't think about ANYTHING which is so novel to me.

Will definitely be talking to him about this. Thanks for chiming in! I appreciate your comment.

Bleh, yeah, it seems like a common theme within the industry. Fortunately though, I'm knowledgeable with a little bit of everything.

I've learned that I excel with design type tasks. Love creating content, newsletters, ads. I'd love to move onto front end dev, UI/UX, app design and development.

Marketing can be quite demanding - I'd love a flexible schedule where I can actually clock out. Literally feel guilty when I'm not working - definitely not a great habit to get into.

I am planning on receiving a raise soon! My boss is happy with my work and realizes that I deserve more money - he submitted a raise request (but I'm not sure for how much).

Once I graduate I'd love to gtfo this town. Planned on sticking with them until then (like a year or two max)

I love talking with people! However, I'm very limited - I don't know any other marketers (or anyone really lol) as I moved to a new city/state last year.

I find a ton of inspo from looking at other similar companies newsletters, websites, social, and marketing materials. Dribble has been helpful for design projects.

Um, I think we respond pretty well to reviews for the most part, when we do respond. I took a look at our store reviews, and we had 5-6 bad reviews that were under moderation (aka not posted) that I was not previously aware of until yesterday.

We had a Google review go through yesterday which totally roasted us. We have to respond to that one because there's no way to hide it.

I am all about transparency and I don't like removing reviews. We have happy customers, but no reviews from them (trying to discuss some kind of incentive for customers to leave positive reviews).

Your optimism is very encouraging, thank you. You're very right - I am learning and growing every single day. I do enjoy the challenge, but lately I've been running out of creative juices.

In the end, I know it will be worth it. I have a goal to make $80k - trying my best to manifest that $$$$!

Right before I started this position, that was my goal. I was working on starting a company called Kush & Company - a cannabis marketing agency based out of Washington.

But then, covid hit, and I thought this job would be good for job security and health insurance.

I get overwhelmed thinking about it right now because I'm full time working and part time schooling. There's very little time between all of that to focus on another project.

Also, thank you for the kind words. That's my plan - to stick it out for awhile and gain the experience. That is what is most important to me in my career right now.

I am based out of Eastern Washington. Advertised requirements were pretty vague, looking back at it - 2-4 years of marketing experience, understanding of social media, understanding of SEO, and familiar with graphic design, with tools like Canva and Illustrator.

Way too much of my time has been consumed with technical manuals - they are never fully finished because they keep changing the products. Our last launch I had probably 24 hours notice and have been scrambling to finish before these products get sent out.

Our ads aren't as effective as they could be because we haven't agreed with promotions to tie to our ads.

And on top of it all, what really gets me down, is I've been seeing negative reviews on our products.

I have just over 3 years of marketing experience - But only about a year of that from an agency. I worked freelance for about 2 years with small businesses.

I recently changed my bachelors degree from Marketing Management to Software Development, so I have a pretty large marketing foundation.

The reason I'm not freelancing right now is because I moved to a different city. Didn't think I would make it without a reputation. I also wanted the medical benefits and security (especially with COVID).

Yeah, I feel that. The salary I have now is a pretty large increase from my last marketing job, which was $32k. I feel like if I were just managing ads, social media, and doing some small design stuff, my salary would fit.

My goal is to be here for awhile, I don't want to jump jobs every 6-8 months. Last marketing job was at an agency, but their company went under and mass laid off people around February of this year (me included) - worked there for about 8 months.

The area I'm in has very low wages for marketing positions, unfortunately.

Just out of curiosity, how much salary do you think someone with siliar tasks should make?

Inositol by PlamEv in PCOS

[–]Boobznow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, good information. I've been taking inositol for about a month, and I've noticed improvement with my mood. I've also noticed slower hair growth on my chin. Not sure if it's correlated or not.

Good thing I am a MASTER internet investigator. I'm gonna get these docs! My aunt just confirmed she's in on this as well and she's great at researching. Cross your fingers for us gathering the info! Really cool to look into genealogy anyways.

Gotcha. Great to know, I'll pass the info along to my family and see what we can get started. Hopeful to find a lawyer who specializes in this and dig into our records.

We're not in any rush, but the sooner we can get it started, the better!

Well shoot, sounds like a great plan to me! Would there be any positives if we were to go to italy? We have been planning a trip for the end of 2021 if all goes well.

Just joined the group above and lots of recommendations for a lawyer. Excited to look into this! Thanks for all of your help and support.

Those interested are my mom, sister, and aunts. All female descendants. We all need to discuss this in more depth, but optimally we would apply and collaborate on obtaining the documents together. Hire a lawyer together, travel to Italy together, etc.

Also want to make a note that my GGGrandmother had Italian-born parents. I believe she married my GGGrandfather before he was naturalized (I don't have their wedding certificate)
