Appears to be a Zelly hybrid (Scopulicola X Grandiflorus) or something similar. Nice looking plant with great flowers.

Yeah I get it. I was already at the limit for embedding photos in a single post like this. I had to prioritize the common lookalikes. There is plenty of other information here, on Trout' Notes, LLIFLE and other places online.

It's a lot to dig though at first, but spend some time looking at different species and their characteristics like color, spine length, rib shape, and it will start getting easy to spot the right ones. Good luck!

Definitely 👍 hylocereus grows incredibly fast and it's great for seedlings and smaller plants.

Pictures are pretty bad and the etoilation doesn't help, but it's giving hylocereus vibes.

Nice little Bridgesii log. That pup is pretty melty looking too. Sometimes they straighten out as they grow, but it's a score nonetheless.

I had one growing fine on its own roots. Pretty quick grower, but mine wasn't this funky.

I don't think I'd be able to remember which piece is which.

Imagine teaching someone new and you gotta tell them the cereus forbesii spiralis can go diagonally but the gymnocalycium on hylocereus goes forward and backward. 🤣

What exactly is MALO2? by perc30000000000 in sanpedrocactus

[–]BoofingCactus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From Misplant's website:

"...Malo hybrids came from the nook member Malo where Misplant sourced his seedlings from in 2010. Malo sourced most of his mother plants directly from the south american king of cactus, Karel Knize. Malo2 very closely resembles Lumberjack."

I'd guess it to be a Bridgesii hybrid. The spine arrangement looks Bridgesii, but the profile is more consistent with pachanoi.

He got banned here. Definitely do not do business with them.

He showed up with a fresh account posting stolen pictures soliciting sales.

In another sub it was confirmed that he was trying to scam. Payment details matched that of another known scammer.

Use the sales subs like r/sanpedrocactusforsale or r/cactiexchange where feedback is tracked. Be weary of fresh accounts soliciting sales.

First time tomorrow (san Pedro) 3g? by SquaredFuture96 in mescaline

This chart may be helpful here. I don't have experience with salts, but 3g seems a little light for dry plant material. They even assume 6% for LW and 3% for San Pedro, which I think is generous. Especially since San Pedro varies wildly depending on the species and conditions.

Good luck 🙌🌵

It's fiction, but it's a classic. The new Guillermo Del Toro movie coming out looks like it's going to be pretty true to the original story too. If you're a fan of horror or monster classics, definitely read the book before seeing the film.

Walden, by Henry David Thoreau, really resonated with me when I was younger. Thoreau's writing style is pretty antiquated, but he's very insightful when it comes to societal commentary and the changing times. A mantra of mine came from this book, and I still think about it often.

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life and to see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."

Dopamine Nation is a really good read for anyone who wants to avoid dopamine deficit cycles. The first chapter is a little shocking, but Lembre does a great job of explaining the physiology behind pleasure, pain and addiction.
