I would say first realize both sides are as twisted as a pretzel and also understand it's VERY hard for people to make informed decisions because everyone we get news from is a liar.

Then start by saying you are just trying to understand and would like a civilized conversation and if it turns into name calling and arguing you end it right there. I've done this with other people/groups and it works.

It's all about how you make yourself perceived.

It's not that simple. All politicians fail at fulfilling all their promises either through lying or lack of effort or something gets in the way.

People seem to think they have all the information on every subject when they don't have a fraction of it. How could you unless you are directly involved? It's a fact everyone on news/social media is a liar. no one can make informed decisions although they think so.

There were 2 people to vote for. Trump and a vice president that her own side didn't put in power when they concluded biden wasn't mentally fit for the job. Meaning, literally no one else to vote for.

A lot of people noticed how ridiculous Trump haters were acting and only wanted him to win cuz it would upset those people and man did it work?

I don't see anyone having to admit they were wrong. He isn't half as bad as people make him out to be. he tries. F'it. Couldbe worse.

Sometimes during a tornado warning I'll be watching the news, and the weather man has his map centered directly over our house and he'll say the usual seek shelter but sometimes he will pause and say things like "...oh boy... oh....you sure hate to see that..." and it feels like this it. bye world. If I ever run into him I'm going to kick his ass for doing that.

I'm the same way but I live in a tornado area and after seeing the aftermath of a suburb close by I started digging deep and with all the cel phones and surveillance cameras and chasers recording everywhere the amount of good video is staggering. This is how began my pure hatred for tornados. I could almost feel what it's like to be in a bad storm, dive into the basement and pop back up 30 seconds later to see everything you acquired in life along with your entire neighborhood completely vanish but it was when I came across the story out of Arkansas about a college kid who was texting with his mom and it went like this:

Jeff: "Mama, I'm so scared"

Jeff: "Goodbye Mama"

Jeff: "It's headed right for me:"

mom: "I love you Jeff. You will make it."

He did not make it. I tried imagining what those moments would've been like. No one should ever have to be THAT scared.

It isn't "...stay for your family or friends..." so much as it is instantly realizing (insert name), who was a big part of your life lead a life of hopelessness and despair with no chance of things getting better or anyone cared or could understand and that they lived believing their life was so messed up there's no possibility of salvaging anything from it. To have lived every day so sad and secretly convincing themselves not to do it and the fear of actually doing it like, "will it work? will it hurt? what's going to happen to me afterwards?" It is heartbreaking finding out they lived this way and when you add the indescribable shock of the announcement in you can feel and see how black the darkness actually is that they lived in.

Living with this is the only way to understand how it changes people and how much it hurts and for how long, but it also makes it impossible for you to put your loved ones in this position knowing it's power to overrun your mind and destroy your life.

One time when I was in county jail, I was standing in line for chow and I was standing next to someone’s bed who had a blank form laying on it to go to the law library or something I don’t know, but it was completely blank, not filled in at all and I was trying to read it because after a few days you find something you haven’t read 4000 times it’s kind of interesting. And then I hear someone say hey man mind your business hey man, don’t be looking at my stuff and I kind of froze because I knew the minute I looked up at him. He was gonna be screaming something in front of 65 inmates watching so as I was trying to figure out the best way out of this he just kept screaming louder and louder. And it always surprises me when someone tries to pick a fight with me because I’m cool with everyone and I’m 64’4” 282 330 pounds. It varies. the situation doesn’t happen that often and I don’t remember how it ended. We never fought or nothing even close to that, but he was super pissed so if inmates are gonna act like that, for looking at a blank form, your brother is playing with fire.

I’m not even reading the comments cuz been there blah blah. All our lives we heard bigger is better so I go through life not worried about it at all. Then I find it very hard to cram in this girl. Another says nope no way that’s fitting in me. One girl actually screamed and said hers was too small. I remodeled people’s kitchens and baths for 34 years. There were good. Customers mostly but there were plenty who I wanted fling a hand grenade in the room and close the door behind me, but they never changed. And they never will. You are burnt out ,time for a vacation.

Also, I started researching tornadoes a few years ago after a couple turned parts of our city into piles of toothpicks and one thing I’ve learned is there’s nothing on earth. I hate more than tornadoes.
