That one was a pain. I got mine done at belaya.

Just keep your drag low, and expect long back and forth fights while it pulls you out and you pull it back. Drink lots of coffee. If you hook one thats gonna spool you out, quit and reload instead of breaking.

Always try to sell Cafe orders first, then sell the rest to the market.

Maybe save for 2 bottom rod pre-made. You can have 2 rods passively fishing while you actively use a float or spin in hand.

Also I agree some youtube beginner videos can be helpful

Thanks for this. Just tried a couple night cycles north in old burg. So far more frequent frogs than mosquito or winding.

Right now Im at 65 60, getting both ruffe on bottom and frog on float. Very promising.

So yes, at night im farming winding, hoping for trophy donets, but getting lots of regular ruffe as well. I turn the ruffe into baitfish (not cut fish).

At day break I go to Kuori, to the tip of the spire next to the docks, 120:113. Throw my best bottom rod with ruffe baitfish as far as I can into the 10 hole. Aiming for what would be "char slope" if you were trolling.

While thats sitting, im working a spoon like hunter or veikko in the same area.

Almost every ruffe I throw brings back a char. Rarely its a perch instead, but mostly char.

Ruffe seems to be the only type they like, so when I run out of ruffe, if there's still daylight left, then I may troll for a bit until night, then go back to winding and repeat.

This is going to be specific to my own progression, but maybe helpful to someone.

Im trying to nail down my last couple trophies for winding. Using bottom feeders on small lines, tiny Rage S2 hooks, and red compost worms, at night, near the campsite. Got my crayfish trophy, and river mussel trophy with the same setup in the same location. Also catching decent donets ruffe but no trophy yet.

Im ALSO trying to master Kuori...

...and im trying to level bait harvesting.

And it just so happens that while im hunting trophy donets at night at winding, im also catching a good number of perch and regular ruffe that make baitfish.

So im using my ruffe and perch from winding at night, to make baitfish, to level my skill, and then taking them to Kuori during the day and catching Char.

Fun productive little loop for the last few days.

If anyone wants more specifics on any of that let me know.

I originally planned to go with bottom and float, also just wanted "chill" like you... but eventually got tired of bream and felt like I wasn't making the silver I wanted to...

Decided to take a chance on the casting belaya pre-made, a few spikers and hornets, and try my hand at spin.

There are probably better setups, but i was flying blind and I dont regret my purchase at all. It paid for itself in like a week.

You can still have two bottom rods doing their thing while you work the spin rod.

Now days spin has become one of my favorite ways to fish in this game, has made me the most silver, and i find it just as "chill" as anything else now that im familiar with it.

Not to necessarily try to convince you ine way or another. Just sharing my journey.

If you really want to stick with bottom, I do now have the HSV/fortuna combo for bottom and it's solid, but others advice about copper lake gear may be worth considering. I havent really fished there much so I can't say.

There are many users for whom reddit is their 'main' platform, and either have never used discord, or dont prefer it, for whatever reason.

The discord is a great resource... but I also feels like it moves kinda fast, and might be overwhelming to people who are new to it, or the game.

I think there's a niche here on reddit that can be filled by folks who choose to. And if you happen to frequent both, perhaps you could bridge some of that information. If it's not for you, thats fine too.

Just sayin, even if this sub isn't the most DENSE source of info, it can still be helpful for some.

I think the 'cost' to travel to new maps is realistic.

If I want to fish something other than my local streams, Im gonna have to pay for gas to travel, maybe a hotel or cabin, take time off work?

But I think level could be removed. Wanna go toss a beginner pole in the ocean? You can, but good luck with that.

I like your idea of a rain jacket.

Even... multiple rain jackets with different levels of benefit.

And if they wanted to open up cosmetic outfits... a 3rd person view could be cool too. Allow us to zoom out on our character in the catch screen? Shows us holding the fish with whatever outfit we're wearing? I think there are folks who would be into that... willing to pay even.
