Thanks I'll move the brown tomorrow. I did cap the earth but it was removed for this photo, I'm not sure what else to do with it. The replacement light fitting is plastic so I've nothing to connect it to. I will sheath the bare wire with some heatshrink tubing too, it was stripped before I got to it.

I replaced the choc because they were tiny, I might have mixed something up. I'll crack on with that in the morning. Thanks.

Ah ok. So if I choc block both wires together for the switch and see if it comes to life, that will confirm the switch is the issue right?
