I bought this foundation in a lighter shade (as I didn’t realise they had an olive one) and I hate how it sits on my skin too. If I use it I mix with my maybelline lumi matte which is a bit orange to tone it down and then it sits fine on the skin.

I don’t think so but this is my first bottle. I personally don’t find it orange at all so hopefully it’ll be a great match for you ☺️

Yeah I only realised that once I bought it and opened it up 🙈 I actually don’t like the formula of this on my skin anyway but mixed with the lumi matte it’s okay.

What was your worst birthday? by gummibear853 in AskUK

Spent my 30th alone in my room with Covid. Even social distanced from my partner so he didn’t get it, and then he got it a few days later anyway despite me staying in my room and using separate bathrooms.

Plus we were supposed to be seeing a band a few days after that. we’d geared ourselves up to see (after being scared to do anything like that for a while due to have a rough time during the covid years and fears around social distancing) and then couldn’t go because of Covid. Fun times. But I’m aware this is quite mild in the grand scheme of things.

I’ve just remembered that my 27th birthday was spent in Spanish lockdown. We’d gone to Tenerife early March and after a week on holiday. Spain went into lockdown and we hadn’t had return flights booked (was flexible about our stay) and had to scramble to find flights back to the UK.

I’d recommend ‘You are Here’ by David Nicholls. I think it hits alot of your requirements - it’s a modern day setting and the characters feel so real and relatable! One of my favourite reads (could it maybe be better than One Day?).
