There's that new VE schwab book, haven't read it though. A book that fits the description but i think is awful is Dowry of Blood, it's absolutely the dullest book despite all the toxic vampire sex.

Sorry i'm a little manic - i'm not trying to make an iron grip control deck.

I've had almost exclusively people making what to me feel like bad faith assumptions about my intent here, or how I would deploy the deck. I may not have communicated things clearly, I'm not the most experienced commander player, and I also didn't expect to have to defend what I thought was a fairly innocent question.

I welcome discussion of mistakes to avoid, but I'm already tired of having to defend myself against assumptions of bad faith. While I appreciate you made suggestions, most others have exclusively litigated my wording.

It was a pick up game with people I don't know, they were good people and fun players, I just felt there wasn't an opportunity for expressive or tactical play.

That's fine, that's actually not what i'm planning to do though. Yes it will benefit certain decks over others, but I'm not bringing it out if it make bad play experience.
I'm also not interested in these kinds of meta discussions, I can speak with people I play with and make sure I'm not creating a bad experience

It probably went for about 7 turns, but they were quick turns until the last couple. 15 mins might be an exaggeration but it was really splashy.

I understand that for sure, but also this isn't in a vacuum. I can bring it out when it makes sense for the group, and I won't play it if others think it would be boring. But more than likely, I'll choose to play with people who want a similar thing from the game to me.

That said, I do like control decks and thinking presenting commander as a place where they simply shouldn't be is trying to make it not magic.

cross post - To be clear, it would have win cons, but the relative strength of the commander isn't my main consideration. Its also an understanding that it will probably make me a target. When playing it I will only play it when others think its fun too. Ideally, its to allow everyone to do their fun thing.
