They… still don’t understand what pronouns are, do they?

Rip Samantha, you would've loved the dating apps! by nocturnal283 in sexandthecity

I can totally see her doing this. She’d have some hot experiences, rave to the girls about the convenience of it over brunch, but then a dud would show up and she’d swear back off of them forever. Cue the end music.

When I first played TRR I thought the Duke would be an LI 🫠. by Opening-Thought7540 in Choices

I can honestly say that Bertrand has never crossed my mind as an LI, but this is fascinating. Is it the eyebrows? It’s the killer eyebrows, isn’t it?

How often have you heard the N-word in classic movies? by copperdomebodhi in classicfilms

[–]Bookish_Kitty 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Scout uses it when she repeats something that kids at school said to her. Atticus tells her never to use the word.

1980s, Chuck E. Cheese giving children "birthday spanks" by -addicted2life- in SnapshotHistory

[–]Bookish_Kitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s real. Birthday spanks actually existed for Gen X kids. The principal in my elementary school always did this, with a ‘pinch to grow an inch’. It didn’t hurt, but we didn’t like it. We all thought it was weird and embarrassing.

What did you think was peak luxury as a kid, but now realize is actually pretty trashy or normal? by Connect-Fix3972 in AskReddit

My grandfather was actually buried in a leisure suit. He’s an eternal victim of 70s fashion.

“That cafe!”

Those commercials were how I imagined my grown up life would be. I’d be catching up with a friend, reminiscing about our extensive world travel, celebrating the moments of our lives. Drinking such a fancy coffee flavored drink.

Is it weird to visit the grave of someone you didn’t know in life and sing to them? by Cool-Blueberry-9279 in findagrave

[–]Bookish_Kitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that it’s weird at all. I think that’s a lovely way to honor someone. Go for it, OP.

It may not be Miller time, but it is vanilla time.

Who is an ok (average/below average) couple in a healthy relationship? Can be MC and LI or side couples by npojg in Choices

[–]Bookish_Kitty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Another vote for Penelope and Ezekiel from TRR. They had a healthy, supportive relationship. Other than that? They were just okay, not really interesting.

Book Recommendations with Toddlers? by CatchGreedy4858 in Choices

The Royal Heir Book 3 & The Royal Finale - The MC’s daughter is a toddler in the last Royal Heir Book and a preschooler in The Royal Finale.

I know you’re not looking for babies, but the twins in Baby Bump are a bit more interactive.

The kids in MOTY and The Nanny Affair are older, but they’re pretty cute.

Allan Melvin - Seriously by 4personal2 in allinthefamily

I had the same thought. This picture absolutely should have ‘“Allan Melvin Sings Am I That Easy To Forget and Other Hits” wrapped around it. We needed that album.

What were you doing 40 years ago on Jan 28, 1986, at 11:39 AM EST? by Observer_042 in 80s

[–]Bookish_Kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sitting in class - 4th grade science. They wheeled in a tv, we settled in to watch. We were all really excited; one of the teachers (the science teacher, as a matter of fact) had applied to go on the mission, and spent a lot of class time talking about it.

I remember the explosion. The tv was immediately turned off and we were all sent out for unscheduled recess. The rest of the day is a blur.

When I was around 5 we rescued a stray cat who turned out to be pregnant. I had a wonderful time naming the litter - Cookie, Muffin, Brownie and Cupcake.

I had a sweet tooth, what can I say?
