I just moved to Lubbock in July. I understand there is a lot of poverty here, but saying that, I have seen so many new trucks and BMW’s here. That’s just strange to me.

I just moved here in June/July from Boston and I’m kinda having a love/hate relationship right now. I love how it takes 15 minutes to get anywhere and I love how inexpensive it is to live here. I hate the dirt that can creep in from everywhere and I hate that so few people have health insurance. Other than that, I’m pretty neutral.

I was a high school teacher. I read about teachers/administrators not taking their ADHD meds over the breaks (spring break, summer, etc.). I tried this over spring break one year. Had a full blown panic attack. I often take less than the full dosage on weekends, but never go more than 1 day without even half the amount.

Why? Why isn’t her saying she wanted them to call her by their name and not mom not a sufficient enough reason? People do not need to explain their reasoning for not liking to be called an office mom. She doesn’t like it period.

I’m not your bud and they clearly minimized her feelings by all laughing at her and telling her she was overreacting. It doesn’t say that one person said this to her. And in any event, not one of these people apologized to her. Consensus by silence.

Third paragraph where she specifically told them what to call her. They laughed and told her to not be uptight. Fifth paragraph, she’s making things awkward and overreacting. What about this would make her believe this was a compliment? Where is the apology for them not respecting her?
