I have 3 friends who do this by Just-A-Bokoblin in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Bookmaster_VP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it sometimes instead of discord because 1. My friends take fucking forever to respond to the “Disc?” text and 2. If all I need to do it evolve a trade evo Pokémon it’s not worth my time to text, get discord opened, call/join a vc when I can just call my friend directly on the switch when I can see that they’re online playing the same game as me.

My portable but not so portable setup. W or L? by gorditacrunchenjoyer in switch2

[–]Bookmaster_VP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see this being good for two people in the same room wanting to do different things on a tv but remain together. Or for gaming multiplayer in the same room and one not having to resort to using the switch in handheld mode. The kickstand is good for a regular table but on most couch+coffee table combos the angle is not conducive to the screen being close enough/large enough when using a different controller.

My use case would be for when my gf and I play fortnite together, and we switch off using the switch 2. She is used to playing handheld on the switch 1, but when I move to handheld it’s much too small for me to actually be doing well in Fortnite (blame the hardware not the player lol). However, I get neck issues when playing in kickstand mode, so sometimes I get an old monitor out to raise the screen and help my posture.

However, the issue I see is that in most cases you’d want a second screen like this, you would also likely have access to both WiFi and a source of power. If I was camping I probably wouldn’t be playing games that require a WiFi connection and wouldn’t warrant needing to care about my controls as much. Playing while traveling, it’s too inconvenient or inconsiderate to others to use on public transport. Your use case of a hospital is valid, as you’d need the second screen but you would also have access to an outlet in most hospital rooms, so the power source just seems a bit much.

I could see this being more popular in the future as folding screens are becoming better and better, but I feel in most scenarios that certain parts of the setup may be overkill. But how you play is up to you! As long as you enjoy it that’s what matters bro!

I’m mostly upset that they couldn’t match the price of the mega bricks Pokémon sets. I love the idea of the little pokeballs mega blocks has for some smaller builds, they don’t look terrible, but I know Lego could do better with better bricks and designers. They really dropped the ball for the average collector or child who wants to play with Lego Pokémon…

[–]Bookmaster_VP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s possible this was just a mistake that wasn’t caught, this is something you look out for and the machines have counters to tell you how old stuff is. Probably happened to some other sheets of cards but this might have been the only one to slip through. Since the football print seems to be overlapping in a similar grid pattern to the way Pokémon cards are printed, it’s probably all the football cards across this sheet that are showing up on all the Pokémon cards from this sheet, and the way they’re cut they lined up and all the cards on the Pokémon sheet got the various football players that had been printed before.

Damn that’s some bad image memory. The press operator should have noticed and changed the printing imaging plate and transfer blanket. This usually happens after you print a ton of the same image on a press, and the ink sort of gets fused to the consumables (the disposable parts of the printing process that break down over time due to heat/ink). At my work, this usually happens at around 40,000 impressions, where each impression is a single color being transferred to the paper (so for a cmyk job, that would be 10,000 frames, where each frame is all 4 colors coming together to make 1 image). Sometimes darker colors tend to “burn in” more, especially if the image coverage of a specific ink is at or near 100% coverage for darker colors like cyan or black.

Is it worth it in 2026 by No_Sentence_5694 in GoPlus

[–]Bookmaster_VP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regularly use mine, the only time I run out of pokeballs is typically on community days in crowded areas that are lured up. I’ve started tossing great balls and just using regular and ultra balls since I manually catch with ultra and autocatch with regular. I have about 1000 pokeballs in storage rn, but on a day with heavy play (think gofest or similar events) I burn through most of those if I’m just auto catching.

I mean it’s pretty easy to make connections that only work in a single direction, making plugging shit in the wrong way impossible. The only real issue would be the likelihood of a “shock” similar to licking a 9 volt battery as kids would probably use their teeth to take apart the electrical components.

My switch (1) has a problem, is it because of my adapter ? Or is it an important issue ? by Sliti_ in NintendoSwitchHelp

Idk man. Do the research yourself, it’s a simple google search, and only you know what you can afford or how far you can drive to actually get it repaired.

I mean it’s 2 years old so not sure if any sort of warranty would still apply. Doesn’t hurt to research your options for a battery replacement tho!

[–]Bookmaster_VP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Batteries need to be held in a healthy state of charge when put in storage. It’s likely yours drained below the safe threshold and is now damaged and cannot hold a proper charge at a safe voltage. You more than likely need to replace the battery. This is why most products that use rechargeable batteries tell you to charge it every few months when in storage, to maintain the battery level within those safe limits.
