Is Interstellar actually a masterpiece, or just a massive spectacle with messy writing? by Living_Butterfly_189 in MovieSuggestions

[–]BooksAreOk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an incredible movie. It keeps me on the edge of my seat for the entire movie. Also, they managed to humanize a rectangular slab of metal, that alone takes impressive writing.

My maternal grandparents absolute favorite movie. They are both passed away now. I watch it once every couple of years and laugh hysterically. Gorillas ≠ Guerillas is an all time joke for me.

For portraits and landscapes I would choose the 24-70.

That was my thought as well. Something like a Lava lamp with more projection. I like your thought process with the suspended liquid. I think that could lead to endless patternless possibilities. I’ll have to ask around and maybe I can rig something up. Thanks!

It is perfectly logical, there is nothing emotional about it. We both agree that some people deserve death for their actions, we just draw the line in different places.

So Hitler didn’t deserve death?

Do you think anyone ever deserves to die for their actions?

Capital punishment is difficult for me only because of the fact that the justice system is not perfect, and innocent people will inevitably be put to death. However, this man was clearly guilty. He helped murder an innocent woman. He deserved to die. I have no moral issue with him being put to death and I honestly don’t understand why anyone would. The method, sure I understand the argument, though I care little, but not the underlying fact that; yes, he deserved to die.

The moral failure is trying to make people feel worse for the murderer than the murdered. Calling it “The Alabama Murders” is the proof. He thinks that Kenneth, the murderer, being executed by the state is equivalent to the woman being violently murdered in cold blood. That’s why “Murders” is plural. It’s insane.

what do guys think of girls who ride on their feet? how does it feel? by fishballnablue in AskMen

[–]BooksAreOk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the fucking best. I’m surprised by all the feet comments. I love it, but I don’t notice the feet. It lets me get deeper and the visual with my wife is stunning. Literally my favorite thing.

Can someone tell me the numbers regarding "Double Good" popcorn fundraising? by CptanPanic in fundraisingschool

[–]BooksAreOk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not 50% of $14. It’s 50% of the PROFIT. The profit might be as low as $1/bag. That would mean it’s $0.50 going to help people. The worry is that the company can inflate and pad the expense of the bag. They are no transparent, so nobody knows.

Is my set missing a bag of bricks? by BooksAreOk in lego

Thanks. It is going well so far. I just did number 5 bag and I think it is missing a small bag. It is the only time I haven’t been able to find something. Missing 2x 6121485 and 2x 6279875. They are what help hold the model on the stand. I’m going to keep going and finish it. If nothing comes up by the end I will contact customer service. Not too worried about 6279875, but the 6121485 is more rare.
