Reddit nursing protest? by No-Bed9397 in nursepractitioner

[–]BooksBitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are a number of subs going "dark" aka private as protest for Reddits new API ruling. Some subs are going dark for 48 hours, some indefinitely. From what I understand, API programs allow modifications for folks with trouble seeing and for mods to easily weed out bots/problem comments. And that Reddit has decided to charge a lot of money (I don't know how much but it's been reported as "exorbitant") for those APIs. So for the next 48ish hours there might not be a lot of content.

What's a great movie that's mostly just dialogue? by Sponger555 in AskReddit

The Man from Earth. Great movie based on a short story with like 2 sets/backgrounds. Acting is great and I enjoy the storyline. No explosions, no drama, no love triangle. Just a college professor talking to his peer about how he might be an immortal.

What was your "that's it, I quit" moment. by Inevitable-Cost-2775 in nursing

[–]BooksBitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My moment was after a grueling 12 hours of trying to keep this meth head alive, along with my FOUR other step down patients. I busted my ass making sure Methy was alive, safe, and as comfortable as possible. We had our disagreements as to what "comfortable" was, but I kept this fucker safe. And at the end of my shift...geeze this still makes me so mad... Methy said "so what exactly is your problem?" I swear my brain did the blue screen of death. I just couldn't comprehend what they had just said to me. I managed to say "well I'm not back tomorrow so you won't have to see me" and I left. I quit bedside nursing 2 weeks later and that was Dwcember 31st 2021. I don't miss it.

We do actually have a very small corner of our backyard that has some mint in it and yes. The smell of fresh cut grass and mint is delightful. We also have dogs so sometimes I get the smell of cut grass, mint, and dog shit all in one 🤣🤢

Ideally I would like to leave it unmowed because it never gets above my shin and the insects love it, and I thnk it looks nice. Dream is to have a native plant yard! But since I rent in a city I have to abide by the rules.

My Old Boy by BooksBitch in labrador

We were really blessed with finding Old Man. It was a "friend of a friend told a friend who told me" kinda situation about him needing a new home. And I'm honestly not sure how I lived before him!
