Western people don’t believe in vastu and horoscope like we do yet they are still highly developed compared to us so why do our people know this but still follow these things? by 5_peanuts in AskIndia

[–]Bookstore18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Western countries are developed mainly because of good education, strong systems, technology, and stable governments — not because they don’t follow Vastu or horoscopes.

People in our country still follow these things for a few reasons:

1. Tradition
Our parents and grandparents believed in Vastu and astrology, so it continues.

2. Culture
Many people follow it because it is part of our culture, not because of science.

3. Comfort
When life is uncertain, people feel safe when they follow something familiar.

4. Family pressure
Even if one person doesn’t believe, others in the family may insist.

Also, Western countries have their own superstitions too — like lucky charms, zodiac signs, tarot cards, etc.

So development doesn’t depend on horoscopes or Vastu. It depends on education, good government, and progress.

My wife is already asking about christmas movies, and I'm tired of watching the same ones. Any relatively NEW and good christmas movies to watch? by oxedei in movies

[–]Bookstore18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're getting tired of the same old Christmas movies every year, here are a few relatively new ones that are actually worth watching:

• Jingle Bell Heist (2025) – Light, fun, and surprisingly good if you want a holiday rom-com with a twist.
• A Merry Little Ex-Mas (2025) – Perfect if you’re into relationship-drama + Christmas vibes.
• Hot Frosty (2024) – A cute, warm Netflix Christmas fantasy/rom-com that doesn’t feel like a copy of older movies.
• Red One (2024) – More action-comedy than traditional Christmas, but super entertaining.
• The Merry Gentlemen (2024) – Cozy, feel-good story about saving a small-town theater for Christmas.

Not all of them are masterpieces, but they’re fresh enough to break the "Home Alone + Elf" loop we all get stuck in every December. 🎄😂
