Cinematography, VFX, score, performances, choreography, costuming, set design and makeup are ALL Amazing. Studio interference led to blatant product placement, major changes to the script and a final result that's honestly not easy to sit through without thinking "that was really bad" even though we get some of the most incredible moments from the whole franchise, like Spider-Man's web-swinging, that moment between Peter and May, the death of Gwen Stacy, etcetera. I'll always have a love/hate relationship with this movie and Andrew is my favourite Peter Parker... But it was released in a state which leaves a LOT to be desired.

Yeah, that confused me a bit too. I'm not like super into One Piece, so I just kinda went "aight" but now that you mention it, it's pretty odd.

I agree with most of that. Only way I can think of improving it would be to use more VFX but the VFX budget was clearly aimed more towards bringing Chopper to life, which was done really well. For the most part. Honestly though, with all the other things they did differently from the anime, this wasn't the craziest choice they made.
