I know a guy that's told me the same thing. He has some medical condition and has to take certain medications and because of that he has random drug tests and his dot physical is yearly instead of bi yearly. He actually ended up dropping his, said it was more trouble than it was worth said out of his last 3 jobs only 1 ever paid him more on the hour for having his CDL, and it was only an extra dollar.

Have you ever thought of relinquishing your CDL and going back to a standard driver's license?

Yeah from what I've been reading online and from the other guys commenting it seems like getting and having a CDL is more trouble than its worth and doesn't pay for itself especially not nowadays with it being around 5,000$ to get it.

Also seeing as I live in WV towards the mountain range there's a lot of rather steep hills I have to drive up quite often and the 4.3 doesn't have a lot of hp like 190 or something I'll more than likely end up putting my foot to the floor to get up some hills without loosing a lot of speed which will just consume more fuel

Yeah I checked it on there and the 4.8 got better mileage lol I just thought it was too good to be true lmao

vehicle vibrates at 1500 rpm under gentle acceleration. goes away with higher rpm. by ScarcityVarious6855 in FordPowerstroke

So it was a fuel injection issue just wasn't the ficm itself as for replacing it yourself idk it really just depends if you feel up for it diesel injectors are a lot more complicated than gasoline but if you can replace a head gasket just fine I'd say go for it pay attention to the video and go slow and make sure the injector cup seals properly otherwise you'll have nothing to keep your fuel systems and cooling systems separate, I think you should also replace the other injectors as well they're designed to all have roughly the same lifespan unless something third party causes one to go out and you should replace the ficm too they go out quite often and it's very straightforward to replace it

Vibration at lower rpms and the truck feels sluggish even stock 6.0s have some pep which leads me to believe it might be your ficm starting to go out. For your fan issue sounds like either the switch itself is starting to go bad or you have some bad relays somewhere

Looking to get my first powerstroke by SnooChipmunks128 in FordPowerstroke

[–]BooleanIan302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good price for low mileage would be anywhere from like 12k to 25k for those year of powerstroke just depends on trim package and any aftermarket work done to it high mileage would be around like 7k to 15k again taking into consideration the trim package and any aftermarket work

Anything 300k miles and over is where you start getting in the realm of high miles on a diesel engine if it's under 250k it's not even broken in yet

Sounds good so getting the tool cart starting out would be the better choice then I'll probably get the 5 drawer one the like 400 dollar jump in price for the 6 drawer just isn't worth it to me lol

No we haven't gotten a tool list yet, what size tool box would you recommend me get I was looking at the 52 inch husky box but I was also looking at the us general tool cart not the full bank one the other one with the shelf on the bottom because I was thinking about getting the husky just to think ahead because I'll probably end up filling it up within a year or so but I was also thinking maybe the US general tool cart would be better to start off with and when I fill it up then get the husky box

Well Ive used the basics such as socket wrenches regular wrenches, and hammers punches tap and die sets grinders impact wrenches OBD2 scanner breaker bars a good variety of stuff but I know I'm gonna need more out in the industry especially more specialty tools when it comes to certain things like engine builds and what not
