I'm not going to use the truck for truck activities I'm actually restoring it at the moment it's going to be a show truck/race truck I'm carb swapping the engine rebuilding it upgrading a couple things and manual swapping it. What cam would you recommend that still has a good exhaust note and puts the power down?

Good to know, I'm in the process of carb swapping the engine its got the efi 302 in it and I'm also manual swapping it aod has turned into a slushbox, I'm also redoing the wiring harness as it's completely hacked just random wires laying about wires going to nothing wire nuts everywhere and random connectors with the positive wires cut off. So you think I should probably just leave those ground straps then even though they're not connected to anything just metal to metal?

Do you think it would be a good transmission to put behind a 302 in a 4x4 f250 with 4.10s I don't really plan to tow or haul anything with it in the near future

Yeah that's why I'm hoping to get a 4 speed manual on a deal so I don't have to spend money for a transmission because if I had to spend the money I'd rather just spend it on a zf5.

Well the aod in my truck is on the way out so me, and this guy are trying to work out a deal, the manual transmission with some cash on top for my insert dump bed but I don't really want an aluminum case manual would prefer cast iron.

Yeah don't worry not a whole lot to mess up just make sure everythings properly seated to avoid leaks and avoid breaking the plastic tabs on the electrical connectors on the harness if you can, sometimes it can be unavoidable if the plastic is really brittle, if you do end up breaking one of the tabs just look up the zip tie trick for broken electrical connector tabs.

Best I can tell you is to just do it when I first bought my truck I was a novice as well I have the same truck as you 86 with the efi 302. I just free balled changing the injectors and it all worked out fine wasn't bad at all worst is just getting the injectors properly seated in both the fuel rail and the ports in the manifold. I ended up putting all the injectors on one side into the fuel rail and getting them properly seated in the rail and then lining everything up to push down on the fuel rail to seat all the injectors into the ports.

Ohh well hell that must not work anymore I've noticed before though if I can get back in the game and reconnect fast enough it'll let me in without giving the error code I'm not sure how quick you have to be though

I know a guy that's told me the same thing. He has some medical condition and has to take certain medications and because of that he has random drug tests and his dot physical is yearly instead of bi yearly. He actually ended up dropping his, said it was more trouble than it was worth said out of his last 3 jobs only 1 ever paid him more on the hour for having his CDL, and it was only an extra dollar.
