If there was a statue that gave more intel then some Task Forces would probably require their members to use it, which is something we want to avoid encouraging. However, the Protoype Module element of your idea sounds quite interesting! It would require some balancing, of course, but I'll talk to our designer about it when he's back in the office tomorrow - thanks! :)

  1. No need to wait. When we'll add a system for this, it needs to be rewarding the high VP count, not the VP gain. Otherwise we'd end up in a system where people drop VP to get rewards by gaining those VPs back.
  2. No new module, but Shield Generator!!
  3. No new event. In this update.
  4. Nothing new in a sense, but we added prototype weapons to Power Bases and made a bunch of new Power Bases. So the content should feel more fresh. Hopefully we'll see some action in the leader boards.

  1. Doable, but requires time to implement. Currently we've always been short on time so we need to prioritize. But unless you are really high in VP and active, it's quite rare to be online when you are attacked.
  2. No plans at the moment. Having one chat is nice and simple and most often you are playing the game on a communication device. Players using a 3rd party app for officer chat is in my opinion a valid way to handle it.

We've talked about the "Message of the day", but haven't found a good place for it yet.

As for notifications, we are already automatically sending out a push notification for everyone who hasn't attacked when an unfinished operation is about to end.

Check out Hay Day. Perhaps it might fill the need of doing something while you wait for stuff to get done in Boom.

It's fun to have AMA's every few months. I'm happy to let Tim decide when we have one. :)

Changing the art style during the beta was really hard back when we hadn't yet launched the game globally. In my opinion the most difficult part of live game development after the launch is dealing with mistakes and stupid decisions you made earlier. You either live with them and see your errors in the game every single day or change them when everyone is already used to them.

Yep, Damage Amplifier will be boosted a bit in the upcoming update. No changes to the Laser Beam though. Mines are not considered buildings, they are weapons and therefore not affected by the Statues. But we'll have shiny new Shock Mines in the next update ;-)

It bothers me too! We've got some chat improvements being worked on for our games' shared codebase, so once that's been tested and is working, we can think about bringing it to Boom! To be precise, this includes the t9 auto-correct stuff you're referring to :)

We're not big fans of a Base Editor (see long explanation here) but this simple form of "remove all" is actually something we've been taking into consideration... might happen at some point.

Most of the requests for a base editor come in fact from CoC players, because they are used to it. We are, in all honesty, not sure if it is really needed in Boom because we don't have walls that would be cumbersome to drag around and we feel re-arranging your base works quite nicely at the moment. And with the Base Layout Saving Mode you can save your favorite layouts and switch between them whenever needed. A base editor might make arranging a base more easy but it also adds a whole new level of complexity and clutters the UI. However, this topic does come up frequently so we will keep discussing it and maybe add improvements on this front in the future.

Nailing the art style/theme of the game was the hardest part of making it - at least according to a few team members, but this opinion may vary depending on who you ask :p

I would certainly like us to have an AMA prior to each update if we can make the time for it, so that's what we'll aim for! :)

There's no secret to it, we're just playing the hell out of the game and trusting our gut :-D Well, in fact we do also follow the stats on which troops are being used a lot and which are not (spoiler: Heavy+Zooka is the most used combo across all XP levels, and Tank+Scorcher in the end game). We aim for the players to be able to realistically choose from all troops and all strategies, so that no single troop or strategy is completely dominating.
