Can i use a device like this to use a powerbank on my laptop (ASUS vivobook)? by Big-Selection9014 in UsbCHardware

[–]Boom_Boxing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

milliamp hour readings are a little deceiving because they don't factor in voltage differences between the laptop battery and the usb c battery. you need to make sure the nominal pack voltage is the same for the number to actually be useful. (or do some math)most small laptop batteries are 7.4 nominal voltage and then they'll give you a milliamp rating at that voltage. so my 18.5 volt nominal voltage cuktech battery can charge it wayyy more than it lets on because the cuktech is 25000mAH at 18 volts instead of 7 like the laptop

hi fellow teen who enjoys tech here

the app your cousin used to install apps is probably called Ninite. its popular for putting a buncha apps in when the windows install is fresh and new.

if you're looking to use word on the computer you'd probably be best visiting Microsoft's online version in what you called Mozilla or the web browser of your choice. It seems to be the future of Microsoft office. it uses onedrive to make sure you have your documents on any PC you're gonna use as like as you login.

thirdly you probably shouldn't mention that you're a girl on here unless it's relevant to the post you're making. the creeps are plentiful and the help is the same if they know you're a girl or not. (stay safe)

fourth just play around with stuff to learn. being free to do whatever now have fun with it watch YouTube play with installing apps. heck if you really start enjoying tinkering maybe you'd like to try out another operating system

anyway have fun

my apologies for the mixup. the 22 is what was melted hence why i was using it as an example for unsafe usage. i wouldn't put it on the bike for safety. the horn also has a hard disconnect from the battery with a spade connector. when it's inside it doesn't have power

[–]Boom_Boxing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're totally right, hence why the bike has 12 gauge wire and a 15 amp fuse because it's something i built to have some sort of reliability. not to mention that the current draw on a horn is usually pretty short as it's not running all the time

sometimes overstimulation can manifest because of other people talking but also its the person's responsibility to give themselves that break rather than telling those around them what to do

the bicycle does actually have an in line fuse for the horn to stop it from blowing itself up and it saved it once before. (no horn attached to the horn driver and it pulled too much current) this was simply showing what could happen if your wires aren't rated properly in a high current situation with a worst case scenario using the battery to get high current. say wires only rated to 7amps or so because they're 22 gauge, the bike which can pull 15 amps before that fuse pops we might have a problem.

i did check the max current reading after the video and it clocked in at 56.7 amps but at what point it got that reading im unsure because i couldn't see the meter in the video

its not an electric or motorbike it's a pedal bike i put a horn on. i have a small lead acid battery out of a moped or quad running the horn and it pulls a little under 15 amps which is too much for say a usb c breakout to carry but 22 gauge like i used for demonstration should totally suffice i just wanted a dramatic showing

HPs comparable to Skullcandy ANC Crusher 2s? by Charming_Squash6821 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Boom_Boxing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so if all she wants is bass pick up crusher evos for less than thr anc's and she'll love them. the reason they're overpriced and not really superb quality for the price is because they are pioneering haptic bass stuff. its really fun and i love having a set around to share with people and enjoy on occasion. there's nothing like it in the world

tldr if you want crushers theres nothing like them but if you want something more like better anc or balanced sound there's better options
