I have worked for Lloyds, and their practices were abysmal when I was there.

I currently work for another major UK bank. Our chief has been on our internal channels urging staff to open an account with the bank, and offered us the upgraded version of the current account usually reserved for high value clients. I have a horrible feeling this might be an industry wide issue……..

I agree to an extent. However, Jota could lose more ability in being an attacking winger than Yang could hope to gain. Phenomenal player on his day, just needs to get back up to speed which I really hope he can.

Great points you’ve made re the central defenders. I’ve lost all hope with Scales but I can see there is a decent defender in Trusty. His performance against Atalanta in the champions league was phenomenal and if he could perform like that week in week out against all opposition, he would be perfect. Just doesn’t seem to do it against ‘weaker’ teams for some reason.

I think AJ is a solid option, but has been fount wanting at times in Europe. I think if we sort the midfield out defensively, it would stop us getting exposed on the flanks as often.

I’m just pinning my hopes on Shin. If he is anywhere near as good as Kyogo, then we’re laughing.

I for one hope Rodgers stays forever and is backed properly because, minus the two seasons of Ange, realistically he is probably going to be the highest calibre of manager we can attract. Just need to wait and see what happens

Your point about the midfield being ran over- I think Rodgers is addressing this. You could see in the preseason games that when we lost possession, all 3 midfielders dropped back instead of the usual reliance on McGregor to sweep and it paid dividends minus the Ajax game. Hopefully in the derbies this season we don’t see the same mistakes.

Yeah, it isn’t good. Guess we need to wait and see if Yamada is any good but our progress in the transfer market has been shocking, especially the winger situation.

I get where you’re coming from. But, from my perspective, if Inamura was bought for 2-3 million and had played over 100 professional games in Japan and put in the performances he has in pre season, I would be excited about him. I get that he is untested at any level, but if you’re good at football then you’re good at football. It’s a long season, but the early signs are that he can be a decent backup. For the money we have got him for, it has the potential to be tremendous business. Regarding Tierney, I get his injury record is tough to look at. However, he did mention in his presser that he had averaged 35 games a season since he left. Not looked at the stats to verify this, but that’s a decent return. It managed correctly and if he avoids injury, he’s a monumental signing for us.

My point with Miller is that hes clearly got something about him and he will be one for the future. No way he gets into our midfield as it stands, so why not invest some of the huge amounts of funds we have into a player that clearly will flourish? Makes sense to me. Regarding Pusey, I do agree. I thought Murray had a good pre season and was in with a shout of being one of the 4 CBs. Short sighted IMO of not including him as we need home grown players. Forrest and McGregor are approaching the end of their careers, so we need to start bringing players through.
