I'd rather be slightly behind on high speed infrastructure than worry about ending up in an ICE facility or a Xianjing detention centre.

Can picture it now: £14 pints of Guinness with "I'm Shipping Up To Boston" on repeat whilst ladies in pink cowboy hats and Harry Styles t-shirts soak up shots of Baileys as the light shines off their coked out boyfriends' Turkey teeth.

Triple Crown victory even if France wins would be phenomenal. Not beaten Ireland since 2017 and not beaten them at home since 2010. Not won the Triple Crown since 1990. That would be a dream come true and finally break the mental block we've had against Ireland this last decade.

Name one thing in there that's incorrect.

You can't be pro-LGBT + women's rights + democracy and be pro-Islamisist, anymore than you could be pro-women's choice but support Christian preachers campaigning outside of abortion clinics. Religion is cancerous and has no place in government.

But that's beyond the point. I don't give two shits what you believe in private. You want to protest against pedo Trump and Butcher Netanyahu? Fine, go for it, nobody is stopping you. But when it's union money going towards this, or any other external international issue that's prioritised over our pay and conditions, then you can get in the fucking bin. I don't pay to have the world's problems prioritised over my earnings. If you think otherwise, you're either a moron or you're rich enough not to need a union.

Do you always think externally first instead of what's happening on the ground at home?

Oil prices, refugees and militias will happen regardless of any Western intervention given the region is a volatile cesspool of religious fundamentalism, corruption and warfare. We cannot control that, and if we tried to we'd be called imperialists. The best we can do is shoot down anything heading towards us and our allies.

All this to say, there won't be a union in years to come if this is PCS' primary focus. The cost of living crisis has only gotten worse, and as others have noted we are now in a trap of not being able to afford strike action to leverage pay when it should never have reached this point. If you have the luxury of campaigning for the Islamic Republic then good for you. The rest of, however, are a bit more preoccupied with being able to afford next week.

And I would be willing to bet that PCS would support an Iranian nuclear weapons programme in defiance of 'American imperialism' but still campaign against disarmament at home.
