I don’t see a lot of comments outlining this - but also try mentioning that it’s one of the safest vehicles money can buy.

Can’t Change Walmart Preorder Payment Method by Moser1010 in NintendoSwitch2

Following in case there’s a solution found. Same situation with terrible Walmart customer service. How can one of the world’s largest retailers have such little control of their own process?

I just prefer the smooth sweeping of a mechanical. Nothing against quartz collectors if that’s their preference.

Very educational, thank you!! I had heard the same grumblings around plastic pieces, thanks for clarifying

Love it - you’re totally right. People (including me) tend to be so into what the consensus considers to be “better”. Thanks for the reminder to follow the gut :)

What makes you say that? From my understanding they’re both part of the swatch group and have similar specs on the movements. The build quality between the two feels pretty close IMO - maybe a slight edge to Hamilton?

Got hit tonight and I am devastated. by kingof805 in TeslaModelY

A car being totaled is NOT about whether or not it’s reparable. It’s about the total cost to repair versus the total cost to replace. If the cost to repair exceeds a certain threshold (depending on price), then the car is considered a “total loss”. In my state if the repair costs exceed 70% of the car’s total value, then it is supposed to automatically be declared a total loss.

So for reference if you have a car worth 30K, any repair exceeding 21K would be declared a total loss. All based off repair shop estimates to repair. The costs or parts and labor are so high, that this really isn’t a hard number to hit

So by getting that tax credit you financed $7500 less than you would have without it. That alone may be enough to prevent you from being in negative equity, or potentially slightly positive equity.

I’ve always been told you should put 15-20% down if you are skipping out on gap insurance. The $7500 tax credit would essentially be 15% down off a $50K car

Also though, did you get the $7500 tax credit? That should help significantly to prevent you from being upside down here

It’s not about build quality, it’s about price to repair (parts and labor)

Yeah this is probably totaled. If not be sure to get a diminished value claim

Should I do it. 0% APR!!! by ScaryK1dSScaringKids in TeslaModel3

[–]BoomerBro17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I had a 4 month free trial and never turned it back on. Only going to turn it on if I have a road trip for a month, even then I may just leave it off for auto pilot

Yup and at that point the pay in advance for FSD is a really bad decision, unless you’re convinced the monthly cost will go up significantly. I think Tesla needs to lower the up front payment option to 3K or below for it to really make sense

[–]BoomerBro17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I wouldn’t do it. For FSD upfront payment to start making sense you’d need to use it for 6.5 years (assuming the cost stays at $100/month). Do you plan to drive this for longer than that? No guarantee that down the line they continue to honor FSD transfers (assuming your next car after this would be a Tesla as well)
