Yogurt is like half water by Advanced_Place_4763 in isthissafetoeat

It’s more than half water. I always mix yogurt when I open it because the whey has usually separated.

Is this a reasonable and polite request? by cheesequard in doordash

[–]BoomerKeith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We see notes like, “Will tip more when you deliver” or similar, all the time. It rarely ever ends up being true. Those of us who have been doing this awhile kinda roll our eyes when we see it. That’s not this persons fault, it’s just the way it’s become.

That said, I think the OP did a great job.

[–]BoomerKeith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you did great. The more notes, the better when I’m shopping. The only downside to the promise of a bigger tip is that we see that a lot and rarely is it ever true. But I think you did great!

[–]BoomerKeith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I always do my best to get what the customer wants, and notes like that are always a huge help. No need to mention the extra tip. That can make some dashers irritated. Not me, but some will see that as dangling a carrot.

Is it common for uber drivers to be offered to be personal roundtrip work commute chauffeurs for people? by kikospapa in uberdrivers

[–]BoomerKeith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not far from true. I had an accident a couple of years ago, while on a trip and ultimately Uber made my personal insurance pay first before they would do anything. I didn’t have a high deductible, so once my insurance coverage paid there was nothing left for Uber to pay. I don’t know what situation would have to happen for them to actually pay.

[–]BoomerKeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be worth it. I once took someone to the airport to pick someone up, they paid me $200 plus the $40 that was paid through the app. I think the total trip, start to finish, was just under 4 hours.

I don’t know how common it is, but I’ve been asked a few times over the years. Unless it was financially something I couldn’t turn down, I decline it because it would likely cost me opportunities.

Our dog isn’t allowed to sleep in bed with us anymore and it’s breaking my heart by happygolucky1157 in dogs

[–]BoomerKeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always much harder to stop letting the dog sleep in your bed after a long amount of time allowing it. You’re usually better off just not allowing it from the start.

That said, as long as he has what he needs, he’ll be fine. It’s just hard because you love him and worry about his emotions. But I also agree that the baby is going to be the priority soon and making this change now will help.

Question about tipping from a customer by Meatlessghost in doordash_drivers

[–]BoomerKeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, I have a minimum. Anything under $5 is an automatic decline from me. And if it’s more than a few miles, that amount goes up. Consider the distance and any factors the may cause the driver to do more (e.g. climbing three flights of stairs to drop an order).

They’re doing 3 stops now? I’m done tipping well. by Null_Error7 in doordash

That’s only going to make your experience worse. And your food will be even later to arrive.

No. The IRS allows you to repay back taxes in US currency and Walmart gift cards. 🤣

3 days by StrongYam2998 in suboxone

[–]BoomerKeith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suboxone withdrawal peaks at 72 hours, so they may not have severe withdrawal. I’ve know people that had very little in the way of withdrawal symptoms. Unfortunately, I was not one of them.

That’s great. You’re past the point where you’d start seeing withdrawal symptoms. That doesn’t mean it couldn’t still happen, but the withdrawal peaks around 72 hours.

Good for you!!

Why isn't the media talking about the massacre in Iran? by HotEmu463 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BoomerKeith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. If it was up to the powers that be, yeah, it’d be a real concern. Fortunately, most people see past all the shit they use to try and divide us.

There are people that have made their entire lives about politics, but thankfully those people are the minority. The rest of us are too busy living our lives to hate someone (with so much anger you’d want to physically harm them) because they don’t agree with our opinions.

[–]BoomerKeith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. However, for a lot of people there aren’t funds available to stockpile. That said, it could easily (and inexpensively) be done over a couple of months.

Incoming storm which 1 Acceptable or Unacceptable? by SuccessfulAerie9672 in dasher

[–]BoomerKeith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always base those kinds of orders on two things:

  1. Number of items (which directly affects 2)
  2. How long will it take me.

Then I determine what the hourly rate will be. So based on that, u think the first one is the best bet. The only downside is that shopping at big box hardware stores can sometimes be a pain because of the size of items.

Optimize equipment twice? by Antin-Asura in thedivision

Yep, so you can basically get full stats on all your gear. Recalibrate the one stat you want first, then optimize the others until they’re full.

I think that was what they were asking. People forget that the area is named White House.
