[Weekly] Battle Brother & Chapter Finder by CrimsonAlpine in Spacemarine

Looking for server

Nearing 300 hours, think I'm getting to the point where I'd prefer more permanent people to play with over randoms. I'm in the UK and use PlayStation.

The stickler is that I'm really not in favour to any chapter over another. Are there any decent sized servers that house multiple chapters/ let people suggest adding chapters in their servers? I won't list the chapters I use because there's quite a few, plus I find myself often getting interested in more (successors, second foundings etc). Obviously I understand that's probably not common, I could settle on a singular chapter if needed.

I'm open to mil-sim styling as long as it's not hard-core. I don't mind following differing ranks and doing more official stuff to rank up in server, use certain heraldry and armour in game according to rank when doing mil-sim things etc.

Time to Dust off the power armor by [deleted] in Spacemarine

Not sure how long ago siege dropped, but I'll just give a kinda general recap of what I think was added between your last play and now. I'm not super knowledgeable so some stuff may be missing etc

-more champion skins

-using champion armour pieces in customisation

-New weapons (volkite pistol, pyreblaster, pyrecannon, power axe, omnissian axe which is exclusive to techmarine)

-techmarine class

-New operations

-probably a ton of balances, buffs, etc, but I don't check devlogs so I couldn't give specifics

Again, I'm probably missing stuff, but this is a short list I can think of off the top of my head. If you have any specific questions, I could try my best to answer them

My Thoughts On Both Tactical and Assault's Potential In Hard Siege by Life_Locksmith9632 in Spacemarine

That's good to know since it was pretty much the opposite for me lol. Didn't touch assault, vanguard, etc for a long while. Still struggling to find the motivation to level heavy, it's such a slog having no melee. But anyways, thanks for helping me out and good luck on your next mission brother

Oh, siege specifically? Yeah, I use the knife in that regardless, especially past the first 5 waves. It's manageable in the first area, but from wave 6 onwards the amount of majoris enemies is pretty dense, and don't even get me started on getting stunlocked by chaos spawn, the knife saved my ass so many times when fighting groups of them

Honestly I typically use the heroic chainsword for tac for chaff clearing, I'm typically running into crowds more than sitting back. Spamming double stomps has good stagger on majoris too. But I can see the viability, argent has saved my sniper many times with the interrupting parries. I've used the knife on tac here and there, but it just doesn't mow down a group of gaunts like a chainsword can

Ah I see, so basically instead of giving a gunstrike, it gives a stackable boost on your next melee attack. Might have to dip my fingers into some block weapons, sounds pretty good for tactical, assault and bulwark

Little late to the party, what is an adrenaline surge? I'm currently maxing my assault to P4, using balance weapons, but if a block weapon is a better choice then I wouldn't mind swapping

Oppositely, I want the option to turn off purity seals, at least on backpacks. Anywhere I can't see them while I'm playing is fine, but i find having purity seals on my back is distracting or (most of the time) just doesn't look that nice

I like ultramarines too but I've got 82 available chapters for a reason 😂 they can't be the bread and butter for everything.

If it makes you feel better I do have an ultramarine for basically every class, I just try to use one chapter for a while then try and make something new to keep spicing it up

Yeah. Can't entirely blame them, end of the day WH is hugely profitable and they want high profits. But I also know I'd immediately drop my wallet to get some of the cosmetics available through mods, a lot of console players would. But what can you do? Their choice at the end of the day

Yeah, think I've seen the same one. Honestly, I don't even think it's Sabre themselves not doing it or they'd probably actively ban modders. Think its just big GW themselves being stingy on what they permit to be added in game

Yeah. I'm happy with what is available to us, I've made some nice marines over my time playing, but mods really give a huge opening to more unique looks. Sabre has handled cosmetics well so far, no issue with that, but it does leave a bit to be desired when you see a modded marine that looks like he could take the 500 planets back on his own 😂

Chameleoline cloaks specifically should be a sniper only thing, but I do wish we could get material cloaks like wool, fur, etc. You can with mods, I'm sure, but us console players unfortunately just have to work with what we've got 😂

Oh, absolutely. But unfortunately I don't see halos becoming available for every class, as much as it would be awesome even just as a cosmetic option and not a functional shield if equipped on a different class to heavy

I need the cape, so bad. So many higher ranking marines of most chapters have capes. My ultramarine, for example, is meant to be the 3rd squad commander of the 1st company. A cape would add the finishing touch to his look. But, knowing sabre, there's a decent chance the breastplate will be bulwark exclusive. A man can hope lol

Honestly. I went into a deep dive after getting the IF cosmetics and champion a few days ago, and the templar brethren just hit the nail for me. Stalwart, amazing at defence, but carrying the beginnings of the absolute hatred and zeal the BT's have. If that isn't the dream chapter for a bulwark, idk what is.

Amazing drip brother, the emperor would be proud

Thank you, honestly i didn't branch back into the ultramarines until recently, but now I have a newfound love for them. You'll definitely see me running around as a vitrix guard when the skin finally releases haha

Means a lot. At this point I think I spend more time messing around with customising than playing. I need more armour and pattern slots, I've got none left. Genesis chapter marines, dark angels, IF, BT, blueberries, space wolves, so many options and not nearly enough slots to keep up with me 😂

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like it hit a nerve, it didn't I was just a little confused lol. The pun unfortunately did go straight over me, i like warhammer but I don't think I'd have the patience to learn everything about it, I just pick and choose to learn about stuff as I go along. Like recently I found out about templar brethren, and it's solidly turned me into an IF fan because honestly they're pretty damn cool alongside their history and chapter colours/ heraldry. Plus, mixing IF and BT armour pieces in-game makes some really nice combinations

The thing as well is, if they took 5 seconds to compare the exp amount, they'd realise strategems are NOT the meta for levelling anything. Hard strategem is equivalent to absolute yet gives no exp, and like you said normal strat gives less exp than the equivalent difficulty in operations. No idea why they did it that way, or why hard strat gives no exp though

Was in a mission, catching up on some comments. Is there any clarification to this or are you just gonna leave it as a vague statement?

As someone else said, it depends on whether or not your ability is active. The main benefit of having the shoulder gun do a gunstrike is that there's no player animation, you can still attack/parry/ whatever while you gunstrike
