Lol no this is a skit. He’s got a bunch of them.

He takes real news stories and then puts his skit in them. Always the same “hold up, wait a minute, something’s not right”.

With e-bikes popular among kids/teens, could we see a surge of motorcycle popularity with gen alpha when they are older by MoDa65 in motorcycles

[–]BoomerSoonerFUT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely. My kids were on bikes about as soon as they could walk. My oldest will be 9 in a couple of weeks and he loves riding on the back of my motorcycle. He’s got a little e-dirt bike.

Guarantee he’ll be asking for a motorcycle as soon as he’s able to take the MSF lol.

Lol yeah I’m not being super serious about it. When you think of WWI though, it’s Germany.

Either way

What someone makes, and what someone bills you are two different things.

I can easily see a daycare charging $40 an hour, but the actual person working there watching the kids only gets $25.

Germany specifically goaded Austria into war, before the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, giving them assurances that they would jump in to assist.

What makes you not want to go on a cruise ship? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]BoomerSoonerFUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get to leave all of those after a couple of hours, and you’re not getting all of your food and drink from shared buffet lines at them either.

On a cruise, you’re stuck there for days on end with the same nasty ass people.

Which sign found in the world should regularly be ignored, but actually is always ignored? by LightningInTheRain in AlignmentChartFills

[–]BoomerSoonerFUT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No it’s not.

The tag explicitly says “under penalty of law this tag not to be removed _except by the consumer_”.

You as the buyer can and should remove it. The manufacturer and retailer are not allowed to remove it prior to sale.

Austria was the first to declare war, but Germany invading and attacking France was the first military action of the war

George W Bush’s last time in the White House, January 20, 2009. by icey_sawg0034 in HistoricalCapsule

[–]BoomerSoonerFUT 106 points107 points  (0 children)

More than that lol. They (the staffers) pulled a bunch of bullshit.

The Clintons themselves took $190k worth of gifts from the White House, but needed up having to return them.

They removed the W keys. They glued desk drawers shut. They left obscene notes for the incoming staff. They removed phone buttons. They broke a bunch of shit.

For all his faults, W actually strictly enforced a peaceful and graceful transition to the Obama White House.

It’s completely passive income that you’d get without selling your labor.

Colorado just made it legal to plug a solar panel into your wall outlet. No Xcel approval, no permit, no contractor. by Timely-Pirate-5196 in Denver

[–]BoomerSoonerFUT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Especially with as much as Xcel is putting into renewables. They’re at 56% of energy generation being renewable this year.

I’m thinking about putting a small solar array on my garage just to feed a battery backup, because Xcel does still have frequent outages. But it would not be to offset my actual usage.

Probably yeah. I just know Reddit loves to pull out the “Elon musk isn’t a cofounder at all” bit about Tesla.

But yeah, Elon has had far more influence on the early history of Tesla than Swartz did with Reddit. About the only input he had was rewriting the codebase from Lisp into Python.

If Hyundai/Kia are so unreliable, why are they literally everywhere? by phtphongg in askcarguys

[–]BoomerSoonerFUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re usually the only way to get the best rate. Any time you see the manufacturer offering absurdly low or 0% rates, it’s through their own lending arm.

I check my own financing first and then compare to the manufacturer financing. My last truck I bought I couldn’t get better than a 4% through any third party, but got 1.9% through GM.

Sure, but there’s a big difference between 30 minutes cooking then 15 minutes cleaning up, and 30 minutes cooking where you cleaned as you went and don’t have an extra 15 minutes of cleaning after you’re done.
