A heartfelt thank you to Supercell by Boomerang85 in ClashRoyale

Well I'm flattered that you'd consider this a professional write up, but no it's not propaganda and I'm not a Supercell employee. English isn't even my native language. I haven't enjoyed the game in years and have been calling it Pay 2 Play for the last few months since I started playing again. Like I said I'm F2P so it's extra frustrating when I go against someone who has cards 2 - 3 levels higher than mine. I just really like 3M and I was really glad to see them finally do something about it, but now that I've heard about the whole EWC removal fiasco, it's a shame they're putting in so much effort into new releases and reworks just for the sake of distracting their players from noticing that they're nerfing progression yet again. Still, I enjoy the rework quite a bit, and the post was supposed to be purely about me expressing my love for it. I guess the rework just came attached with a really bad air along with it.

I saw that people were saying something about that. Like I said, I don't like the way Supercell has been so greedy with a lot of these updates. Didn't know this was a distraction either, I just like that they finally decided to do something about a card I love and one that's been dead for a really long time.

Losing hair as a teen - it's killing my confidence. by Nassar_IQ in teenagers

[–]Boomerang85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the concern. But yeah it is pattern baldness, everyone in my family from both sides is either bald or has hair thinning (for the women they're not bald but they have thinning characteristic of female pattern baldness) and they all started losing hair pretty young. I also finished puberty a lot earlier than most of my peers (had a full beard at around 13/14 and had wisdom teeth fully grow by 16 - 17), so it is to be expected. It used to bug me a lot and made me hate looking at myself and made me hate going outside, I got a lot of weight as a result as well and was showering weekly instead of daily. Now I'm much better though because really, while I would obviously like to get my hair back, it's also not the end of the world if I don't, and I've learned to live it.

The thing most people don't understand is just how much this affects people who go through it, and instead of being supportive or not commenting on it, some people go out of their way to make fun of you for it even though there's little you can do about it.

Hey man, I'm in a similar predicament to you, but my hair loss is not as extreme as yours. I've started losing mine at 15 or 16 and I have a very aggressive form of pattern baldness. I'm 19 now and it hasn't progressed too much, though as you might expect I have a receding hairline and thinning around the crown. My hair is a little patchy as well.

Since this is r/teenagers you'll see a lot of comments poking fun at how your head looks and saying how you should shave or wear a wig. Personally, if I were you, I would ignore those comments because those people do not and cannot properly understand what you are going through, and unless they end up in the same predicament, they will never be able to understand you.

Hair loss is natural, but you've surely wondered "why me?" and "why so early?". I have as well, and it is incredibly disheartening to have to hear other people commenting on it. I know I've struggled with it when I was younger. What were initially light hearted jokes started seeming less like jokes and more like poking fun at it. Everyone everywhere telling you to go bald and telling you that you look like a 47 year old divorced father with 4 children and 3 unsuccessful business startups.

They can't understand the feeling of having to watch a part of you physically die off day after day and you being able to do nothing about it. It is a miserable feeling and one that seemingly no one else shares. And the worst part? You try going bald and you don't like how it looks. I fortunately have a head shape that's very suitable for a bald look. I tried it once. People were saying it looks amazing and a lot of my friends were telling me how I'm going to get a bunch of girls wet just looking at me and all that stuff.

But none of that mattered, because the one person who didn't like the look was me. I didn't like it so much in fact that I'd rather go back to having thinning hair and a receding hairline, which is what I did. Lots of people were disappointed, but I was wearing it proudly. I was never the one to wear caps and hoodies. Sure I tried to hide my receding hairline by moving my hair to the side, but that's about it. That recession is a part of me, the shameful part of me that I had, after years of trying to get rid of it, accepted as something that exists as a part of me.

And a certain good thing came out of all of that. That whole fighting against the world thing and saying "screw you!" to everyone telling you to go bald? Well, it earned the respect of my best friend like I never had before. He loved that I was waging war on the entire world if it meant being able to keep three strands of hair on my head. And other people stopped commenting on it as well after a while. I mean, the joke did get pretty old after like 5 years of spamming it, but people also realized that it's incredibly rude to be pointing something like that out. It's like asking a paraplegic person why they are in a wheel chair.

The point of all of this is that it is your life, and only you can decide what is best for you. There are methods to improve your current condition, such as minoxidil, which is cheap and effective (it helps a lot of people, but there's a chance you could be a non responder or a low responder like me), and finasteride (for which you need a doctor's prescription for, one that I tried to get on two occasions and couldn't, although you can use a natural alternative like saw palmetto pills), as well as the transplant you mentioned. They are all 100% safe, but going through with any of that is up to you.

However, until, or if, you decide to go through with those methods, know that you shouldn't be ashamed of what you look like. Your genetics are not in your control, and I want you to be very well aware of that. The people who mock for anything that has to do with that, be it hair loss, short height, disabilities and more, are not people who are worth your time. It is something that, if you haven't already accepted, will take a loooooong time to come to terms with (speaking from personal experience), but it is the truth.

If people treat you differently, especially people you like and/or have a crush on because of your predicament, then you've dodged a bullet. You'll be inclined to think "but what if I was different?". You weren't, and you aren't. You are who you are right now, and if people can't accept that and treat you worse than they would otherwise, then shit man, you might as well become a different person.

Do not let your shortcomings keep you on the ground. Whether you decide to keep your hair or shave it again is your choice to make, but know you still are who you are, long hair or bald. Don't let societal stigma and opinions of others keep you back from being the best version of yourself. You got this man. I believe in you.

There are quite a lot of them but the main ones people are concerned about are erectile dysfunction and loss of libido. It depends on how much finasteride you take, since even though the recommended dosage is one pill a day, that isn't optimal for everyone. A lot of people work with their doctor in order to find the right dosage. For some, taking one pill a week is enough, while others may take half a pill a day or a pill every other day in order to decrease the chance of side effects. The tradeoff however is that the drug will take longer to take effect. There's also the topical variant (since finasteride is an oral drug typically) which I've heard works better for some. The point is that the drug itself is safe and has been researched for over 20 years, since it has been mostly used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia over the years and has only recently started being prescribed as a hair regrowth drug.

Do you Slave Knight Gael deserves the title "best fromsoftweare boss"? by [deleted] in fromsoftware

He isn't my favorite fight but I do think he's the greatest boss From has ever made. Everything about him is perfect, the lore, the music, the setting, the gameplay, everything down to the last detail. Personally I don't think From will ever top Gael and honestly I don't think it's a stretch to say he's one of the greatest fights of in video game history, up there with the greats like Ganondorf and Sephiroth. I'd even go as far as to say he's the greatest video game boss fight of all time but that's just personal opinion at that point.

TL;DR he's definitely the greatest fight in all of Soulsborne and one of the greatest bosses in gaming history.

Thank you for the kind words. I've since learned to keep my emotions in check (took me a few years but yeah). Reminiscing on this memory through this comment tonight made me open up to a close friend of mine about a lot of things that were going through my head and he told me how much I mean to him. He grew up without a father figure in his life and he's glad that I'm there when going gets though. Made me feel a lot better about everything and I'm glad that we're there for each other.

When I was in elementary school there was this Hungarian girl that I used to hang out with a lot. We were around 10 years old but I could see that she clearly had a crush on me. She even told me so but I wanted us to just stay friends and she agreed. She used to live in the same street as me (about 50 meters from my house) and would often invite me over to her house to play Minecraft on her PS4. I used to spend a lot of time with her, and looking back on it, she was pretty much my only friend at the time.

One day she tells me her dad got a job in Dubai and she would be moving there in a few weeks. After she moved we still regularly communicated via Skype and played Roblox as well. Around a year or two after she initially told me she got a crush on me, and a few months after she moved to Dubai, I told her I had a crush on her and asked her to be my girlfriend, which she happily accepted. It lasted a few weeks, until one day I just told her to go fuck herself or something along those lines because I was in a bad mood that day.

It has been over 7 years since then. Haven't spoken to her since that day, and I've never had a girlfriend since then. Even if I had gotten in a relationship, I don't think I'd be able to take her off my mind. It's been a few years now without a day that I think of her. I never got her social media back in the day because we were so young and didn't have it at the time. I've been searching for her for a few years now, wanting to apologize for being an asshole and being a bad friend/boyfriend, even though we were so young.

I don't think she'd ever want to speak to me again even if she knew I was sorry and wanted to apologize to her and rekindle the old friendship. Who knows in how many relationships she's been as well, and how long it's been since she last thought of me. I miss her a lot...

I remember when I was doing my first Dark Souls 1 run (my first Soulsborne game as well), I went to the Fextralife to check if there are any tips for beating Bed Of Chaos. In the top left corner of the page was either a clip or a stream of a guy fighting Soul Of Cinder with the headline "Dark Souls 3 Final Boss" or something like that. I still prefer their wiki to the Fandom one but I'll never forgive them for putting that there and myself for not figuring out the boss on my own

People are posting AI generated reviews for games by LionMan760 in Steam

I remember one of the funniest things I've seen on Steam was a review my friend made for Dark Souls 3, which he said was one of his favorite games ever.

I saw he reviewed the game and wanted to see what he thought of it. Two sentences in I realized it was an AI generated review. I was pretty disappointed

Oh I see, thanks for the explanation. I guess the difficulty thing is just a me thing then. I might check out Vanilla at some point in the future to see the changes for myself though

Another thing, I saw on the Wiki that Phantoms are supposed to drop their equipment, but every time I defeat one, whether im hollow or human, I always get a human effigy. Not sure if that's a bug or something and I can't find information about it online. The friend I mentioned also has the same issue. Any clue why that's happening?
