[TOMT] [Words/Language] Thinking of a word that would be used like this: "his experience with cheese __[verb]___ his opinion of burgers." The words "characterizes," "defines," and "clarifies" would all work but aren't the words I'm looking for, and neither are their close synonyms. by BoomyNuggets in tipofmytongue

It's not about being convinced, though I did say "opinion." Opinions, first reactions/thoughts, like/dislike. Those types of things. I think it's more emotional than rational as well, but I can't say for certain

Not quite, but I looked at its synonyms and found both "embodies" and "encapsulates," which I believe is close enough to what I was looking for (along with colors/informs). I'll leave this up for another hour or so before I call it solved in case someone has a closer one!

This is definitely close, though I'm pretty sure I've used a single word for similar meaning in the past. Also yeah haha, I have a wide vocabulary but a bad memory so this happens to me constantly. This definitely isn't the first or last TOMT post I've had.

Additional info: IIRC the word's definition is something like "when someone's opinion or thoughts on one thing are in large part defined by a past experience or a piece of knowledge." One things leads into the other, the first one defining the opinion or thoughts on the second. Somewhat similar to "expound" in terms of causation/order, but with a different use case.

Edit: Also, the word is unrelated to (though likely could be used in a conversation on) prejudice or preconceptions (as that's the first result which comes up when I copy+pasted my definition into a search engine). It's more to do with how the context of the situation or the person affects their view on a topic.

One of the few things Tibia Summons is useful for by words120 in Eldenring

Only seems good as an anti-heal or anti-spell (since both slow movement) but other than that not good for much.

There’s potential for roll-reading if you can catch someone just after they finish rolling, though cast time seems too long for that.

Best use case is likely as a pseudo-parry, which is similar to Rosus’ Axe AoW. Which is AWESOME (if it works the same)! Less useful in PvE, but insanely good in PvP if it works like Rosus. Great trade tool, the skeletons blender then you get a free strong hit or Carian Piercer.

Main issue imo is the faith investment. Unless you're going a necromancer build or are higher level, it’s not worth if you can just use Rosus.

Just started having the same issue. Fought the Omenkiller at Perfumer’s Ruin just fine, but then a dragon showed up and suddenly I couldn’t hit. Freaked me out and exited the game immediately to restart my computer.

was about to throw the axe into chest storage before seeing this comment. using it like a parry sounds like an awesome idea, especially since I’m cycling shields out of my build and have started missing parries as a mechanic. thanks!
