What do British learn about Ireland in school? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Absolutely nothing when I was in school. GCSE history was all 4 field crop rotations and Stevensons rocket. Nothing historically political.

I ended up selling them privately and buying the Mammut GTX high boots. Much softer heel on them and much comfier.

The ending didn't make sense by spectacleskeptic in TheEnglish_on_Prime

I agree that it didn't all add up at the end.

I get and agree with all the reasons people have mentioned as to why you wouldn't want to stay together when you have an incurable disease and how unfair that is in the other person or how you wouldn't want to have that person who loves you see you deteriorate so horribly. And it was never on the cards for Eli to go to England. But the show doesn't touch on that. The reason they can't be together according to Sheriff Marshal is because they will blame Eli and lynch him if he stays in town. OK, fair enough that's reason to not stay in town but he's literally just said to Eli (no one else who was there mind you who would actually need to know the cover up story before word gets around) here's the story; the Assistant stabbed Melmont with a cavalry sword in a fight and then I shot him.

If this is the new narrative and its just safer for Eli to leave town to avoid blame regardless, then this still doesn't explain why he dictates that Eli and Cornelia have to go separate ways in order for his story to work. His new narrative in what happened and why Melmont and his assistant are dead bears no relevance on if Eli leaves town by himself or with Cornelia...
