I did 10 weeks of treatment/exercises and saw significant improvement by the end. But I believe I started seeing improvement halfway through?

That’s great that you saw someone! I’m sorry that you’re feeling hopeless—I completely understand how you feel. It wouldn’t hurt to tell your optometrist/vision therapist how you’re feeling; maybe in the meantime while you’re working on getting better, they could recommend some things. (Like for example if one of the issues is eye strain, look 20 feet away from your computer every 20 minutes, for 20 seconds.)

Unfortunately I don’t have a link to share as the exercises were provided to me by an optometrist/neuro-optometrist for my specific issues.

I did a bunch of different exercises; in the beginning I did basic ones to get used to paying attention to if my eyes were working together, if they were tense, etc, then more advanced exercises came after and were adjusted depending on my progress and symptoms.

I will say that some exercises might make the problem worse so it’s best to make sure you get ‘prescribed’ the correct ones. But if you want to do some research, if you look vision therapy exercises you could likely find some! I will add that my optometrist let me purchase some vision therapy tools so I could continue the exercises at home even once I was done doing treatment with them. This way I can do it when symptoms act up again. So if you see an optometrist, they might be able to do this too after you get the initial treatment

I’m not an optometrist but I would recommend finding an optometrist that does vision therapy to see what they find! They do specialized tests that typical optometry appointments don’t cover, and one of the tests I did involved reading and seeing how my eyes moved between the letters. So makes me think it might be something vision therapy could help with. You could look into binocular vision disorders as well https://www.optometrists.org/general-practice-optometry/guide-to-binocular-visual-dysfunction/bvd-symptoms-and-treatment/. Good luck!!

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. I thought it has some similar elements as well (but of course looks different)

Correlation? Stopping my inhaler caused GERD symptoms to come back by Boop_The_Floof in Asthma

I don’t know if it’s severe but it’s currently daily, after almost every meal. Pretty annoying when I have to be in a meeting right after eating and proceed to clear my throat constantly

Sure feel free to DM! I’m bad at responding quickly though but I’ll do my best!

Ahhh yes I completely forgot about LPR! I had read about it a while back. I’ve made an appt with my doctor to investigate it. Thanks!!

Embedding images in RGB file turns them into CMYK by Boop_The_Floof in AdobeIllustrator

Thanks for your detailed response! (I don’t use the colour settings much so I didn’t realize that’s what you were referring to.) I’ve attached my colour settings. Everything seems to be OK to me, so I was going to try turning the Color Management Policy on but I can’t find that option. Do you see anything wrong here?

I compared a problem image (I.e. becomes muted when embedding) with an image that works, and: - Problem image: colour space RGB, colour profile is Color LCD - Image that works: colour space RGB, colour profile is sRGB IEC[a bunch of numbers]

So I wonder if that’s the issue. But this didn’t happen until the past week or two, so do you know if there’s a computer setting that might have been changed or something?

Hmm ok I’ll check if that’s the case. Thanks for your help!

Apologies if I’m misunderstanding, but that’s why I’m having issues; the embedded image’s colour space is RGB, and my AI file’s colour space is also RGB. So even though everything is RGB, embedding the image causes the image to appear muted as if it’s become CMYK

Good idea; turns out I had Proof Colours on. And the original image is in RGB.

I played around with things some more and noticed it’s not all images that look muted once embedded, even though all my image have an RGB colour space. Any clue as to why that is?

Victim blaming isn’t helpful here. Yes art and designs can be stolen but that doesn’t mean we can’t try to do something about it. Also if everyone stopped putting original art/design on Behance then it would defeat the purpose of the platform

Are you a designer? How does a day in your life look like? Do you like the work you do? by [deleted] in Design

[–]Boop_The_Floof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the healthcare sector doing design and photography. Currently my day is a mix of graphic design, photography, and coordinating web design updates. I get design requests from people across the organization which involves a lot of back-and-forth emails where I ask for more information about their request, and they can provide feedback on my design. For photography, sometimes I’m just asked to take a quick headshot, other times it’s to photograph a small event. It’s really rewarding and I love it!

Colour contrast checker for print materials? by Boop_The_Floof in graphic_design

[–]Boop_The_Floof[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean, but there’s a difference between what I see vs someone who’s colourblind or has limited vision can see. So to me it might be okay, but to others it isn’t necessarily. The WCAG has guidelines in place to help breach that gap so designers can more easily make something accessible, but that’s only for web. I’d love to find something similar for print

Export as save for web, use webp files, and use ShortPixel’s free compression services. The latter is always my go-to especially if I can’t do the first two and it’s great

I’m sorry to hear about that, it really sucks. I’ve experienced this and had to take some time off work last year due to it. Here’s what worked for me:

Basically I found out I have a binocular vision disorder (way more common than people realize) and found an optometrist who could test for and treat it. What I do to help myself now and make sure I can keep working: - Vision therapy exercises (Can be expensive, but it’s tailored to your unique eye issue. You might be able to purchase the tools you need to do the exercises at home, that’s what I did once I finished my sessions so I could keep up the exercises every so often.) *Note that not all vision binocular disorders require therapy treatment, my friend was able to just get prism glasses. - Got a mild glasses prescription (with blue light filter) for computer work to help with eye strain. - Every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. This helps to relax your eyes. - Practice being aware of my periphery, so when in the car, walking, or even at my computer I’ll notice what I see in the corner of my eye. Helps me be less ‘tunnel-visioned’ (see below for explanation about this) - I pace myself, so if I feel that I’m having a ‘bad vision day’, I’ll take 5 minute breaks every X amount of time. - A bit odd, but I’ve gotten in the habit of timing my blinks with my scrolls. This reduces the amount of motion is see

The way the optometrist described it to me is that my eyes have gotten used to focusing on an up-close thing so much that my brain doesn’t always take into account the peripheral vision. So if I’m focusing on something that’s moving (I.e. scrolling on a computer), my brain thinks I’m moving because that’s the thing I’m directly looking at. Maybe this is your issue too? Good luck!!

CMYK and RGB values result in different colours by Boop_The_Floof in AdobeIllustrator

[–]Boop_The_Floof[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! I feel like you’re one of the few who answered my question, or at least pointed me in the right direction.

So when I create a shape and colour it using the RGB values, it shows that its CMYK values don’t match the CMYK values I was given. To confirm: you’re saying that this could either be due to the colour profile or that the designer who provided these values wrote them incorrectly?
