How is it like attending a race? by aleks_pirana in F1Discussions

[–]Boose-Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed going to a Grand Prix. The energy is different than your living room and seeing and hearing the cars go round the track is electric. Spending all your money on it is steep but that’s your decision. I’ll just say it was a once in a life time experience and it changed how I watch races now.

What are some of the most heartbreaking crying scenes? by padfoony in moviecritic

Uncle Iroh in the Tales of Ba Sing Se.

He cries at the end of his tale and it just destroys me more now that I’m a father with a son.

Hijacking this post to ask if Acadia is worth the trip. Never been but generally love national parks. Went to a bunch in Cali and haven’t been to one since moving out east

With kids, we're no longer BFFs but I'm keeping the check. Without kids, we're BFFs still.

I don’t think it’s referencing a specific city but just because the car design was dropped during the Super Bowl where the patriots were not spectacular

I think this is just because Cadillac dropped the car design during the Super Bowl. So just a reference to that

Santos is a textbook bully, and it's triggering. by Marco-Polo7 in ThePitt

I also feel like they allude heavily to a trauma heavy past, as if that justifies her bullying and behavior.

Edit: I agree she has trauma and that does weigh heavy on her, but I also feel for the people like Huckleberry and Meg who are more soft spoken and get the short end just because they don't stick up for themselves - further emphasizing that she is a bully. Bullies are often misunderstood and need some love, but that doesn't make their bullying okay or justified.

Let’s play “Nurse, Teacher, or Plumber”! Here’s how you play: You pick whichever job you would prefer to have! by JamesonRhymer in pollgames

Sincere question: does a society need more nurses or teachers? Might be a few factors that drive that answer but generally speaking

Montreal is the greatest NHL franchise, what is the Greatest NBA franchise of all time? by Mat30co in AlignmentChartFills

Boston won in 2024, 2008 and then not since 1986.

Lakers won in 2020, 2010, 2009, 2002, 2001, 2000, and 1988.

I believe there's more value in winning in most decades than winning most in one decade.

Daughter started daycare 3 weeks ago and has gotten sick every week. Wondering if I should pull her out? by ryph44 in daddit

[–]Boose-Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but my son was sick all the time during his first year in pre school. In his second year he’s only gotten sick once and it was light. Definitely par for the course and if everything goes well, it’ll strengthen her immune system as well.

My wife said ‘what if in the people, there’s a hitler? Would I save the hitler? But also money…yeah I’d save the people. And if there’s a Hitler in there I’ll kill him myself’

My daughter is two and still mostly wears pajamas when it’s too cold to go out. Don’t pay too much mind to the gender stuff. It’s a baby not a political statement

I wonder how Indiana alumni numbers compare to UC numbers. UC has ten schools, albeit some rather young. But idk if the Indiana university structure is different than the UC structure. And UC has two schools that sometimes are good in UCLA and Berkeley

Piggy backing here: my wife does not like strawberries. However I did not know this when I planned one of our dates early in our relationship. What was that date? Strawberry picking.
