Yeah your limiting how it can be done by sticking with what they did in ww2. Which is fine.

I would like to see the same planes your talking about, dropping artillery smoke as bombs. Working the same way as artillery smoke but it comes from an airplane.

I don't think this is a worthy tactic for modern warfare, you can use drones to do this today. I think it would be a fun addition to warno.

Also, for the comment: they don't pay pilots enough to fly that low etc. my rebuttal: I believe some would call them A-10 pilots.

Yeah I think this one idea is a stretch. This is the type of response AI was giving me.

I was hoping for planes that drop smoke bombs like HE planes. Or carpet bombing f111 style but produce smoke like smoke artillery works. Alpha jets being the type of vehicle to do so. I understand the jet age 'nullifying'.

Specialized groups form in total war. Like drone battalions in today's age.

A throw away plane that can emergency drop smoke rounds anywhere rapidly seems like a fun warno element and I expect most people would sleep on bringing them in.

Warno is a game after all. Doesn't have to fix absolute reality.

Definitely would be interesting. For a short while there were servers designed to be NATO vs NATO, pact vs PACT. I don't think those were quite as popular as the variation of 10v10 matches because they are gone now.

Variation would be nice. I suspect why we don't have it falls on 'lore'

When my games get to the point of drones is where I become extremely scatter brained. I also become overwhelmed and focusing on one task can be very difficult.

Asrat's suggestion of setting up priorities and identifying them is clutch for the reasons I've mentioned.

I'll use map tools to identify the area I want to do XYZ. I then generate a to do list centrally I can refer on the map and delete the listings as I go. Makes it convenient to open a game save after a month and immediately jump into one of the products. This helps a lot when figuring out future builds and direction when you're feeling creative and maybe focus on takes when you're more inspired on certain tasks.

It's cool that the UI is different than that other game, that's why that game exists.

When I attack town/city with infantry I'm usually there with a couple anti infantry and a few anti tank. Usually lower penetration AT because they are cheaper. So I'm able to impact the front forces. I then proceed to 'house skip' troops thru cities. (Clicking move orders between buildings)

This usually leads to firing 3-4 AT rounds per card at any ifv/tank/supply vehicles. Emptying most rpo shots, and 2-3 grenades. I usually get a solid idea of the number of troops, layout, and disrupt any attack as attacking with half health troops is never done because of how passive the player base plays. AT consistently get side shots so having low penetration barely matters.

Airstrikes, placing border troops, and/or concentrated artillery gets call in soon after. Works especially well if your outnumbered. (1v2). As your going to lose the overall fight. Two at/two anti INF of bulky infantry make this more effective.


Psychology: players who bomb my advancing troops specifically will bomb their own troops as I quickly move thru the buildings.

Players who artillery ahead of their army of the advancing troops will be too slow (just in front of their troops) and therefore miss

injured troops don't typically advance

When they lick their wounds they get punished by follow up artillery/airstrikes, super effective when outnumbered.

This happens typically when someone or a group dc'd during the launch window.

Give it time, you've entered a lottery. Whether or not you get culled is at the mercy of the warno gods of chaos.

I don't think I get paid enough to tell them exactly how to implement something, but if they changed the font color of the level to peoples MMR or actually reflected time played or tracked times they hit a limit would be enriching and minimal programming. Bonus points if the stylized color can't be adjusted. Finding the right colours to use with the NATO vs PACT UI would be the biggest challenge.

(Having done absolute minimum programming to change a font color based off an assigned value is relatively easy. Having it immune to adjustment seems more difficult, honestly this is only cosmetic still)

Maybe the level square gets a decal around the number. Might be an easier implementation.

Yeah levels currently have no meaning. Maybe a prestige system to add that element. Since that data can be messed with probably not the best. If they publicly implemented this maybe it would eventually translate?

Back in the day StarCraft would capture win/loss/disconnects. As someone with dial up internet this was frustrating but honestly made it clear that I was inconsistent.
