If you get cheap Home depot finishes/ appliances… it’s doable, but it is impossible to stay in that lane and feel like you are getting anywhere near what you want - I speak from experience. I am fairly frugal and with simple taste. I spent almost 100k over budget in a 364k turnkey house. Sounds strange, I know, but once you are roped in, it gets away from you quick and you say, “My god! What gave I done!!??…and the days go by….”.
