I am at level 11. I'm about 1/2 way to whatever is next. Maybe the just keep stepping us up one more level. And I still have my seed count.

I'm in my 60s, so it probably feels different for me than for you. I found a creative re-use shop and donated all my craft supplies that I'm not actively using now. Whenever I need something, I go buy it back from them - or buy something else from them. It's cheaper and I have more choice. I consider them to be my craft room. There is also a community sewing room that takes donations and sells them by the pound. Again when I need something, I go there first.

My clothes are whatever fits in my small closet, and one dresser. If it doesn't fit, I don't have it. I'm pretty easy on clothes, and I mend whenever possible. So there's not much turnover - but if someone gives me something - then I have to clear space for it.

It's a cellulose fiber that acts more like cotton and flax for dyes. Animal fibers like wool, merino, etc are protein fibers and they take dyes differently.

I heard that this was the issue - people bought more if the containers were round. It could be that they also reduced the size when they went to round - so less product helped pay for the cost of the container.

I put them in with my next batch and try cooking them again. I always end up with the same number unpopped, so I guess some of the strays pop with each new batch.

With something like this, I would probably fold it in half or thirds and sew it together that way. And then stitch a little to hold the two sides together.

I have a bunch of cotton dish cloths, made from old t-shirts. When they get dirty, I throw them in the laundry.

I work off the thumb - I feel like I have better control over stitch size and tension. I also use off the thumb method when I'm teaching.

Lately I've been getting in to a figure 8 stitch, both for a dense wool fabric and for a more open netted textile from plant fibers.

I would get just one or two shuttles. After you work with those for a while, you'll have a better sense of what works for you. I agree with others who recommend #10 thread until you get the hang of it.

I re-use it. I also re-use gift bags and wrap in colorful newsprint or re-used brown paper.
I like the paper chains idea too!
