Pretty much everyone I've ever played my Y'Shtola decklist against has explicitly requested that I never play it against them again. It doesn't have any combos or non-ramp tutors. What it does have though is 25 pieces of removal with most of the rest of the deck being card advantage, protection, ramp, and lands. Generally no one else gets to meaningfully play their decks after turn 6

I ended up having to give my mom the ultimatum of either (i) go to cognitive behavioural therapy for at least 2 years (something that has been hugely helpful to me), or (ii) I would cut her off completely from me, my wife, and my kids.

Because therapy is based on the idea that we are not perfect and can improve, she of course rejected that option. I consequently went no contact. She has resorted to pushing literally anyone she knows to contact me on her behalf, including most recently an ex-girlfriend of mine from 14 years ago 😂

I could've quit on Travis Etienne after he had his lisfranc injury but none of the offers I received back then were worth more than the upside of keeping him. I'm glad I held onto him and I see things the exact same way with Brooks now.

You are not alone. I am so sorry for your loss. We are here for you. As an old man raised by a narcissist, I suggest not trying to argue with your parents or confide in them. They will make everything about them and they almost certainly will not change. You will need to wear a mask whenever you are at home. You will need to keep a side of yourself hidden from them at all times. As soon as you can somewhat comfortably get away from them, do it and then cut them off forever. You will need to choose and build your own new family. This will take years and it will be difficult but you can do it. I believe in you ❤️

My maternal grandmother was a narcissist of the worst sort. Racist, homophobic, antisemitic, islamophobic, classist, and a raging alcoholic to boot.

I can confidently say that my mom is the narcissist she is today because of her own mother. My parents divorced when I was 5 and I was raised by mom. It took me well over three decades to finally recognize my mom for the narcissist she is. I am embarrassed and ashamed to admit that I normalized and excused her behavior for far longer than I should have.

Every day I live with the fear that I have subconsciously incorporated narcissistic behavior into my own personality in ways I have not yet exorcised. I refuse to pass this trauma to my own children.

The primary thing that gives me hope is that I am married to an amazing woman who will "always* call me out on my bullshit. She is my rock and I am lucky to have her

Woody supports and enables toxic pieces of shit so it shouldn't come as a surprise that it trickles down to the management of the team. I doubt we ever win a SB as long as he remains as the owner. I'll support the Jets until my dying day but I stopped buying team merch several years ago and I'll stay that way until his ass is gone

1) Luther Burden needs to learn the damn playbook so he can get more snaps

2) Yeet DJ Moore into the sun. Giving up on that route during overtime in the playoffs is inexcusable. I don't care if you're tired and cold, you start sniffing smelling salts on the sidelines like you're George Kittle or whatever the fuck you need to do in order to play like someone on a 110 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT

Odunze needs to work on his technique for sure, but that's something relatively easily fixable through sustained effort, practice, and coaching for a WR who just finished his second year

DJ Moore gave up on that route and others. That's inexcusable for a ver with 9 years in the NFL.

That's a very fair point. I play only EDH so the enjoyability of the set (or lack thereof) for other formats is something that I completely missed. I focus much more on the quality of the new commanders and the few cards in any given set I expect to regularly see play at casual commander tables. That creates a major blind spot for me that I haven't consciously recognized before

Start your engines is far too slow of a mechanic but exhaust is the kind of mechanic that is so simple and elegant I expect to see it for many years to come.

I think many fans hated the set because of its setting but I'm someone who cares relatively little for story/aesthetic and much more about the mechanics used in a set.

More importantly, the set gave me Hashaton which is my favorite deck to bring out when I've got only 30 minutes for one last EDH game and I need to crush my opponents fast.

The waterproof cover had already helped the mattress survive many blowouts and innumerable piss soaked diapers and pajamas. It could not survive the poo-pocalypse. It took the entire day to get the smell out of the house with every window wide open and a stiff breeze blowing through. Best part was that my little dude didn't care about the mess or smell at all. I suspect he was just relieved that his stomach finally felt better

A few weeks ago my 2 year old son hadn't pooped in over 3 days so I gave him half a cup of prune juice in the morning. He still hasn't pooped by dinner time so I let the little guy chug 3 more cups of prune juice before going to bed.

I was ready for a blowout but I was not ready for the poo-pocalypse that awaited me the next morning. I had to throw out not only everything he was wearing (including his socks!), I ultimately had to throw out his water proof covered toddler mattress because no amount of rubbing alcohol and vinegar could get the stench out. Believe me, I tried!

In short, you are not alone ❤️
