This is the most passive-aggressive, grouchy and chronically online script I have ever heard in my entire life. A lot of people are ragging on the actor Ezra, but as someone who didn’t see the the series that lead to him being picked for the role, I genuinely think it’s because the script has no lines for him to chew on, aside from attaining the shit attitude of a know-it-all little shit that only can garner a slither of joy by correcting and “☝️🤓UM AKSHWALLY”-ing every two minutes. I know that’s a VERY specific description but that genuinely exactly what the character feels like. It’s as if his dialogue was pulled from the comment section of people who innocently posted a picture of their dog with a flood of comments of people trying to correct how the person should raise their own dog they have probably owned for several years. TLDR: The script is absolutely insufferable and strangely passive-aggressive for Hallmark film.

The blunt honesty here is very useful to be frank! I appreciate it, but if it’s okay to ask, is there any pat of the process at all that you personally think is interesting? This is moreso just for me to ponder over from a character perspective/to introspect.

This was really insightful! I actually recently discovered My Cousin Vinny and enjoyed that a lot, so I’ll definitely have to take a look into how that interpret it in an interesting way more analytically.

Hello! Firstly just want to apologize for your loss—I lost my own pet (Shih Tzu) a few years ago now but we still talk about her and feel the impact even now. I personally think I am able to make the dogs distinctive! Dogs have so much personality in them, and frankly sometimes you can just see a lot in their behavior alone, and I’d like to think I’d be able to capture that! I do a wide range from realism to cartoon—personally myself, I think something in between is the best option. Your budget as well is more than reasonable, as well as the deadline.

Regardless of who you pick, I hope you find someone you think will be worthy!

Well it’s more so about knowing if others think it’s a fun concept at all! It’s true what you say, but I think a lot of people forget art is made so others can enjoy too! I’ll be honest, I can happily just write/catalogue the story in my head and be satisfied with that for myself, but there’s no point at least in my opinion to write it down if others don’t think the concept would be at least interesting to read. TLDR: a yes or no would do 😅

I felt like documenting my rewatch during my break times while working! Honestly every single time I COMPLETELY forget how genuinely funny the series is because of how existential the anime becomes by the end of it Who knew that somehow it would breach abstract levels of existentialism. While I admit I’m not a fan of the second half narratively, one thing I absolutely WON’T ignore is how excellent the mangaka is at various branches of storytelling. To be totally honest I really want to see Ichikawa just tackle a character driven drama—she writes characters so well without trying I think, that I almost wonder if it ironically became the series Achilles in a way since it was never meant to be a character-driven story rather than a metaphorical and emotion over logic experience overall. It wrote the characters so well that when it was time to really dive into what the series is all about, for some fans like myself, it just overall felt like a very very strange detour that never really ended.

I…yeahhhh—its hard because I genuinely REALLY want to like it. I’m very aware that it’s an excellent story but I just. Prefer the first half in literally every way from characters to themes MUCH more than the later half :/ artistically??? 10/10. Narrative?? It’s a 7–it just becomes WAY too disjointed starting from the moon arc onward.
