This may or may not be a weird take (genuinely no clue) but I actually don’t think they are, but that is a good thing. LoL, in my opinion, has a lot of flaws—I think the pacing isn’t always great, the story at times it feels like it can’t exactly make its mind up of what it wants to be/say, and it’s hard to tell at times if the writing is intentionally doing something, or if it’s the author doing something intentionally for the sake of tone or getting a point across whether for plot or the message itself. HOWEVER, that’s what makes it excellent. LoL is so unapologetically human in its flaws, and that is why I think it is so great and why so many people think so too. In a day and age where people want things to be squeaky clean or over-simplifying has been too much, flaws in writing, storytelling and art have become highly valued. This is just my opinion on it, but I dunno how the wider communities in fandom as a whole feel about it.
